Since the last election, former President Donald Trump’s support among the black community has significantly increased, according to many reports. Fox News interviewed a handful of black Trump supporters on the streets of Grand Rapids, Michigan, where they explained their disdain for the Democratic party.
Many of the individuals emphasized their desire for the strong economy they once enjoyed under the former Trump administration. Furthermore, the voters stressed that they want to be treated as Americans without their skin color being a factor. Those who were interviewed were highly critical of the Democratic Party’s seeming pandering toward the black community, which supposedly capitalizes on racial identity in politics.
One person interviewed on the street suggested, “They don’t know nothing about nothing.” Another echoed a similar sentiment, claiming that Democrats lack an understanding of the difficulties of everyday life that black Americans are enduring. “They don’t really understand how hard it is just to live a day-to-day life,” this person stated.
Another person claimed that they feel unheard, stating, “When we speak, they don’t listen.” One individual said, “What they understand least about us is that we are human beings too, and we got rights too.” Another voter who was questioned on the street offered the opinion, “I don’t think they they take us serious. They take us for granted.”
One man who was interviewed, voiced frustration, “The fact that we’re just Americans. First of all, a lot of times, they think that we are just gonna follow, maybe what our parents followed, or what our grandparents followed. And they think that we’re not thinkers, you know, smart enough to think for ourselves and really look at this for what it is.”
“They believe that black people are uneducated, that they don’t love the country, and they are just led by whatever they see on news, celebrities and the media,” an irate black man said about the Democratic Party. Another person said, “Not gullible the black voter is they’re underestimating the black voter. They’re putting us in the box, and they think we’re gonna deviate from the norm.”
One person claimed that Democrats refuse to visit the “hood” and get an accurate idea on what’s occurring within these communities. They don’t come to the hood and see what’s going on in the hood, so they never know what’s going on in the hood. They don’t have black voters. If they don’t have any broke black voters, they can’t,” they said. Another person said, “They don’t have black voters. If they don’t have any broke black voters.”
Watch the responses below:
“They can’t buy us. You know, the black vote has long stood with the Democratic Party for long, and I feel like they have taken that for granted, and they haven’t done much with it. And black men are entrepreneurial. Black men are responsible. Black men want to take care of their family. Black men are competent, black men are able. And we can’t be bought with socialist job agendas. We are smart and we’re able,” another individual said, illustrating the capabilities of the black community.
