Chicago residents recently voiced their discontent with Joe Biden ahead of the president’s visit to the Windy City. Reports suggest that black residents are increasingly leaving the Democratic party and turning to former President Donald Trump.
As American cities have progressively deteriorated under local Democratic leadership and the Biden administration, there has been increasing evidence that some voters in urban environments are questioning their tradition of voting blue.
During an appearance on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends First,” Chicagoans P-Rae Easley and Betty Guider explained how they are witnessing their city change from the “Democratic stronghold” it typically is. According to the residents, the city, particularly the black community, is “fed up” with liberal politics.
Easley explained to the host that her community is frustrated with the burden of illegal immigration, crime, and the economy, which are diminishing the quality of life in Chicago. Substantiating her claims, Easley lamented “stepping over illegals” on a daily basis, paying “through the roof” for basic necessities, and enduring the rampant violence Chicago is stereotyped for.
“The city is completely fed up with the Democratic Party. We are stepping over illegals every day. They are now trying to break into people’s homes. Gas is through the roof, groceries are through the roof, violence is up. Nothing is comfortable here under Democratic leadership. We’re all moving on,” said Easley.
Guider added that a large portion of the black community in the Windy City has reevaluated their political affiliation, opting to change their vote “from blue to red.” She suggested it is “too late” for the Democrats to visit Chicago and try to win their support.
“So many of our Black members have decided to change over, to switch from blue to red. And I think it’s kind of too late now to come to Chicago to appeal to us. It’s nothing here for him. We are fed up,” Guider explained to Fox News.
Easley further suggested that illegal immigration has become such a problem for Chicago residents that many voters will turn to Donald Trump, who has campaigned on deporting illegal border crossers and strengthening the border.
“I think that they’re definitely going to vote for Donald Trump, because we can’t afford to keep subsidizing the illegals who are coming here. … People are proudly stating that they’re going to vote for the first time in their lives, and they’re going to run to the polls to vote for Donald John Trump,” she stated.
Guider weighed in on the migrant crisis, illustrating that local resources are being drained from crucial institutions, such as local school systems in the black community. “Our school system here, particularly in the Black community, has suffered tremendously. Our students are leaving our communities to go to other schools. The crime rate is still very high here,” she said.
She continued describing the need for funding among the lawful residents of Chicago. Guider adder, “So many things that money could have been used for. And as a people here, we’ve been told that we have no money. There is no money for Chicago that has citizens here. But now all of a sudden, monies are coming in to support illegal aliens, not migrants, to support illegals. We are the citizens here, right? We’ve paid into the system. We’re suffering.”
