Pop star Billie Eilish recently delivered an anti-Trump tirade to concertgoers at a recent event in Nashville, Tennessee. The singer sounded off on Trump as “someone who hates women so. so deeply,” lamenting his landslide in the 2024 presidential election and saying that he “is about to be president again.” Eilish, like many other celebrities and outspoken liberals,
“Waking up this morning I kind of couldn’t, like, really fathom doing a show on this day,” Eilish said the day after the election, after Trump decisively defeated Vice President Kamala Harris. “But the longer the day went on, I kind of had this feeling of, like, it’s such a privilege that I get to do this with you guys and that we have this in a time like right now,” she claimed.
The artist further insinuated without explanation that her fans would not be safe now that Trump has been elected. “I want you to know that you’re safe with me, and you’re protected here, and that you are safe in this room,” Eilish added. She continued, “The song that we’re about to do is a song that my brother and I wrote many years ago, and it’s about the abuse that exists in this world upon women and a lot of the experiences that I have gone through and that people I know have gone through.”
“To tell you the truth, I’ve never met one single woman who doesn’t have a story of abuse. Not one,” Eilish said, continuing to speak out against abuse targeted towards women. “I’ve dealt with some stuff myself, and I’ve been taken advantage of. My boundaries were crossed, to say it politely.” Watch Eilish’s anti-Trump rant at her concert below:
The American Tribune recently reported on comments from conservative commentator Megyn Kelly sounding off on celebrities for espousing their woke political views. Kelly said, “The celeb crowd we touched on this yesterday. Beyonce, loser, Oprah, huge. Loser, J Lo…you matter. You matter… Loser.” The host of “The Megyn Kelly Show” maintained that celebrities should refrain from making political comments. “No one cares what you think,” she added.
She further explained that it would be reasonable for celebrities to speak authoritatively about topics relevant to their experiences, such as a skin care routine. “If you want to talk to me about what it is you’re doing to your skin. I’m all in. Go on. You got my full attention,” Kelly said. However, she noted that when it comes to critical issues such as the economy or immigration, celebrities should refrain from speaking about these issues. “If you want to tell me who to vote for or what’s happening with the economy or immigration, please sit down. No one cares,” she said.
