WATCH: Biden’s Staff “Pull Him Away” During Off-Teleprompter Comments at White House

Earlier this year, President Biden addressed a crowd on the White House lawn, where he delivered a confusing and meandering monologue to the function attendees. After several minutes, White House Staffers appeared to “pull” Biden “away” and direct him inside. As the incident occurred prior to Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race, his conduct sparked concerns for many voters.

Appearing to tell the crowd he had to go into the White House, Biden said, “There’s 7000 people waiting to gate to get in, so if I don’t finish this, they can’t come in.”  Seemingly promising to come back outside and interact with the group, he continued, “So maybe if you’re hanging around, I’m going to sneak back out. That’s okay, right?”

The president went on, “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” Then Biden began speaking about his son Beau, stating, “Remember that famous expression they also serve only stand and wait. I remember when our son was deployed, my wife would go to the stand that was sick in the morning, drinking her coffee and saying that prayer. Worried, worried, always concerned. And all of you. So we owe you. This could not be done without the family support. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We love you, and I really mean it from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

Biden turned around as if to exit the lawn, but wasn’t quite done speaking.  “You got me, man, I’m not going anywhere,” he continued. “Alright, alright, I’ll come back out when I … they let you open the gate. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”  The president then turned back around and began speaking about highway congestion.

He said, “One last thing, you know, I used to think when I was a senator, there were always congestion on the highways. There’s no congestion anymore. We go on the highway, there’s no congestion. And so what? The way they get me to stop talking, they’ll say, we just shut down all the roads, Mr. President, you’re gonna lose all the votes if you don’t get in anyway, I’ll be back out. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Thank you. I Love you. Thank you.”

Conservative influencer Benny Johnson shared the clip, calling Biden’s off-script commentary a “disaster” suggesting that White House staffers came to pull him away as he continued to speak. However, others offered genuine concern toward Biden.  “This makes me cry 😭 No person should be treated this way especially in front of the world – I don’t like him as a persons but he’s a human made in the image of God and this is elder abuse. Our children are watching,” one user on X commented.

Echoing this sentiment, another person said, “I don’t wish any ill on Joe Biden but he has a ‘look’ about him which makes me think he’s truly not a well man and I don’t think he’s got very long left for this world. For the love of God, he needs to step down and rest 🫣.”

Another conservative said, prior to Biden’s withdrawal, that the clip was an example of why Trump would surely win in November.  “I love this! KEEP HIM IN!!  I don’t want them replacing Joe Biden with another candidate this late in the race. Who thinks Joe Biden can beat President Trump in November? Not in this state that he’s in and people are taking notice, he will lose badly and that is exactly what we want,” they said.
