Recent footage has circulated across social media showing Joe Biden seemingly struggling to get into a presidential vehicle. Simultaneously, the Secret Service appears to shield his actions from unwanted press attention.
The clip shows the president approaching a Chevy Tahoe. Upon arriving at the backseat door, Biden lifts his leg and grabs the side of the car. However, he remains in a hunched-over position, trying to enter the vehicle, slowly inching toward the interior, appearing to have great difficulty. All the while, a member of his Secret Service detail seems to shield the president from receiving too much exposure to surrounding cameras.
The footage of Biden struggling to enter his armored vehicle has sparked further concern about the president’s mental and physical state, where the 81-year-old has had numerous incidents demonstrating his advanced age recently.
Conservatives have shared footage, such as this, on social media to substantiate arguments that President Biden may not be fit to serve another term in the Oval Office. Biden is already the oldest sitting president in U.S. history, and he would be 86 before leaving the White House after a second term.
Amid these unfavorable video clips of the president, the White House has responded by labeling them as “cheap fakes,” suggesting that Republicans are intentionally altering or taking the footage out of context to hurt Biden’s public image.
The American Tribune reported on comments from White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who outright claimed the litany of videos showing Biden struggle to function are disingenuous. After being asked about the “rash of videos” that make Biden seem “frail or mentally confused,” KJP asserted that they are “cheap fakes video.”
“Yeah. We, and I think you all have called this the ‘cheap fakes video,’ and that’s exactly what they are. They are cheap fakes video,” she said. “They are done in bad faith. And, some of your news organizations, have, have been very clear, have stressed that these right-wing, the right-wing critics of the president have a credibility problem, because the fact-checkers have repeatedly caught them pushing misinformation, disinformation.” Watch the recent incident with the SUV below:
The Tribune also reported on recent comments from former President Trump, who addressed the Biden videos along with the “cheap fakes” narrative being touted by the Democrats, attempting to defend their candidate seeking reelection.
“Joe Biden is humiliating our country on the world stage. He’s actually humiliating us. You saw what happened this this weekend. It’s turning the United States into a total joke all over the world. First, he wandered off the G7 in Europe, the stage. He looked like he didn’t know where the hell he was, but he didn’t know where he was,” Trump said.
The presumptive GOP presidential nominee continued, “He’s blaming it now on AI. He’s saying, he doesn’t know what AI is, but that’s okay. Now they’re saying the media is manipulating… Oh, he’s saying the media is manipulating. Now, on that one, I have to stick up for the media, I have to tell you. He said the media is manipulating the pictures of him constantly, not knowing where the hell he is. They’re doing just the opposite. They’re making him look better at the G7 in Europe, and he had to be rescued by other world leaders and to pull him back,” he continued.
