Joe Biden has recently been called out for yet another gaffe in a speech that occurred during the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday. The president has garnered an extensive reputation for delivering gaffe-filled speeches, leading many to question his cognitive fitness before the 2024 election.
“I’m coming down to do that Easter Egg Roll. Just a minute. Thank you all very, very much. Thanks everybody. And by the way, say ‘hello’ to oyster bunnies,” Biden said. Public slip-ups such as this have become so ubiquitous throughout Biden’s term that many social media users were not even surprised.
Polling data has indicated that most voting Americans are concerned about President Biden’s age and fitness as the nation approaches the presidential election later this year. According to a recent NBC News poll, roughly 76% of voters are concerned about Biden’s elderly age of 81.
This undeniable concern among the American public was substantiated by the findings of Special Counsel Robert Hur, who was charged with investigating Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified materials. The conclusion partly determined that Biden shouldn’t be charged because of his elderly age and apparent memory complications.
Hur wrote in his conclusion, “We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory . . . It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him—by then a former president well into his eighties of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”
“Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt,” Hur claimed. “It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him – by then a former president well into his eighties – of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”
Democrats have unsurprisingly tried to downplay Biden’s seemingly deteriorating mental and physical state. However, incidents like this “oyster bunny” gaffe continue to occur, which shakes the confidence of Americans. Watch Biden’s latest gaffe below.
Biden has faced considerable backlash for the White House’s conduct around Easter this year, perhaps the single most important holiday to Christians around the world. In particular, conservatives and Christians alike have slammed the Biden administration for celebrating Transgender Day of Awareness, which lands on Easter this year. Additionally, the president faced criticism for banning “overtly religious” designs in its Easter Egg art contest.
“NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity,” according to an official White House statement.
