In an epic performance on Fox News Channel’s “Gutfeld” program, beloved show co-host Kat Timpf once again returned to the air despite being a new mother and her battle with cancer, doing so in order to comment on the horrible slaying of Turning Point USA founder, Trump ally, and faithful Christian Charlie Kirk.
For background, Timpf revealed this past spring that she received news she had breast cancer just hours before she gave birth, a shocking discovery that meant she had to not only handle becoming a new mother with a newborn baby, but also exhausting anti-cancer treatment. As such, since then she has not appeared on “Gutfeld” as much as is typical, though she has been stepping back into the role as much as she can manage.
Doing so in the wake of Mr. Kirk’s awful slaying, Timpf noted that she had initially tried writing a statement, but just couldn’t because of how fury-filled she was, saying, “Well, I can’t believe we’re talking about this. I can’t and I didn’t say anything yesterday because I was honestly too angry. Everything that I tried to draft had like 11 F words in it, and I love an F word, but I still took that as a sign that maybe I was too angry to add anything productive to the conversation.”
She added that those pangs of anger are still sharp but that at least people are condemning his murder, saying, “I’m still angry, I’m sick, I’m horrified. All the things a lot of people have already said that they are and you know, something that a lot of people have also said is that they may have disagreed with Charlie on some issues, but they’re still condemning his assassination. And I can’t tell you why other people are feeling the need to say that, maybe to kind of say just because we disagree doesn’t mean he should be assassinated, which, duh, I would like to say it, but for a different reason, which is as a compliment to Charlie and to the person that he was.”
She then gave a powerful testament to how kind and respectful Charlie had been, saying, “Because like everyone here, I did know Charlie, and despite having those areas of disagreement, he respected me as a person. He respected me so much that he even invited me to come speak at several of his events, and that was because, as he put it in a message that he sent me, that I have been rereading that competing voices and ideas need to have a platform.”
Adding to that yet further, Timpf noted, “And he believed that a difference of opinion did not mean that you should just throw the whole person away, and that’s one area where we did and where we do agree. And you know, anyone who’s ever heard me talk has heard about how passionate I am about this idea that difference of opinion on a political issue does not mean that the whole person is not valuable, and how we have to see the humanity of the people we disagree with, and how horrible and dangerous it is to view people with whom we disagree as somehow being less than human.”
A bit later, Timpf commented on Charlie’s family, saying, “I knew Charlie as a human my husband and I have met his wife. I cannot stop thinking about her. I cannot stop thinking about those kids. I just had a kid. I cannot imagine losing my husband, my child’s father. I can’t imagine going through life without him by my side, and having to raise my kids without him, and she has to now go through everything without him and and those kids have to go through life without their father.”

She also noted that the murder was utterly pointless and is so infuriating from that angle as well, saying, “And honestly, for what, for what like, who wins here? I mean, even if the idea is to silence his ideas, that didn’t work, because this only amplifies his ideas even further. And finally, I do have to say the evil that that that killed him, and the school of thought that teaches people that being on the opposite side of a political issue means you don’t need to be seen as a human being. I’ve had enough of this. It has been so so bad for us as a society, even before this, and it’s going to keep getting worse and worse and worse .”
