WATCH: Austin Metcalf’s Father Absolutely Obliterates “The View” Co-Host Sonny Hostin

Jeff Metcalf, the father of Austin Metcalf who was murdered at a high school track meet in Texas by Karmelo Anthony, a black teenager, sat down with Fox News and put The View co-host Sunny Hostin on blast for her comments about his son’s death and accused her of spreading false information and monetizing the tragic incident.

During an episode of the extremely biased television talk show, Hostin made claims about Anthony’s weight and the makeup of the jury on the case that were proven to be false and contradictory by trial records and even received a correction through a community note posted on social media platform X. Metcalf made his comments on Fox News host Will Cain’s program.

Metcalf refused to sugar coat the truth, saying those who are commentating on the situation never knew Austin, his twin brother Hunter, or Anthony, only using the case as a means of getting “their 15 minutes of fame” and are looking to “monetize the death of my son.” Austin Metcalf was killed in April 2025. Austin’s father has become one of the most vocal individuals in the public eye concerning the murder.

According to a report from AOL, Jeff Metcalf has had a terribly trying couple of weeks that no parent who has lost a child should ever have to endure. He’s looked his son’s killer in the eye and offered a detailed description of the pain and misery the family has experienced as part of the fallout from the boy’s actions, including the trauma his twin brother Hunter has endured since the incident.

During Hostin’s defense of Karmelo Anthony, she claimed the young man only weighed 130 pounds and was the only black individual under Metcalf’s team’s tent, going on to say he was denied a jury of his peers — meaning black jurors — in an attempt to somewhat justify Anthony taking violent action against the slain teenager.

However, several media outlets, trial records, and a Community Note on X say otherwise, noting that Anthony actually weighed 162 pounds, several other black students were under the tent, and jury strikes were made for race-neutral reasons. Hostin is being accused of twisting the facts in the case in order to create a narrative that Anthony’s actions were made in self-defense.

During his conversation with Cain, Jeff Metcalf weighed in on Hostin and other leftist commentators, weighing in on his son’s murder, saying, “I really wish they wouldn’t speak about it at all because one, if that woman said that, she has no idea about the facts of the case, but she wants to spew her public opinion on a platform that reaches millions of people every day.”

Metcalf also said that those commenting on the case are “just like anybody else” and noted that they “don’t know me, they don’t know Hunter, Austin, they don’t know Karmelo.” He then slammed Hostin and the others as looking for fame and using his son to make money. “They’re looking for their 15 minutes of fame, or their clickbait, or their clicks. They’re looking to monetize the death of my son.”

“Do I have that platform? No, but today I have a little platform to say what I’d like. She is completely wrong. If they want to take me, call me and ask me to be able to deal with them, fly me up there. Let me talk to all of you,” Metcalf continued. Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of Austin’s murder and was handed a 35-year prison sentence for the crime.
