Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) recently appeared at a public protest, lashing out at the Trump administration and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) over their recent initiatives to rein in the federal government and cut wasteful spending. Echoing the widespread sentiment across the Democratic Party, AOC slammed Musk, who leads the cost-cutting organization.
In her monologue, the progressive “Squad” member said to a crowd of protestors,”Every day our job is to wake up and say, What can I do today?” Encouraging the crowd to take action against the Trump administration, she said, “There is no act too small that that does not matter. Every single action matters.”
Seemingly referring to DOGE, AOC offered ways to hinder their requests to access information. “And so when they try to come in, make them, make them show a warrant, make them show a document, make them assert their authority,” she told the crowd. “Ask them, who are you? Who are you? At the end of the day, they’re no one.”
Calling out Musk AOC continued, “They’re just like you, and they’re just like me. And he’s running around because he thinks he’s got a bank account with a lot of zeros in it, that it makes him some kind of super citizen, I don’t think so. This is America.”
The American Tribune reported on other news surrounding Ocasio-Cortez after Trump administration border czar Tom Homan indicated she was under investigation for what could be considered impeding his efforts to carry out the president’s mass deportation agenda. The investigation comes as AOC recently hosted a webinar giving advice to illegal immigrants.
After shearing the webinar online, the congresswoman wrote, “Our strategic advantage in this moment is our strength in numbers. It is time to use it. In nearly every way, we outnumber those who want to abuse their power and keep people in fear. The truth is, they cannot come after us all. That is why they actively USE and create fear: to get us to give up in advance and withdraw from public life without them lifting a finger.”
She suggested that people share posters in public and “tape them up in your workplace or keep them by your door.” She noted, “So if ICE comes to your workplace or home, whether you are a citizen or noncitizen – YOU can defend your community and our constitution by exercising your right.”

Reacting to this, Homan questioned if this is illegal interference against the federal government trying to enforce the law. “At what level is that impedement? Is that impedement? I’m not an attorney, I’m not a prosecutor. Is that impedement? Is that impeding our law enforcement efforts?” he asked.
Homan continued, noting that he is collaborating with the Department of Justice to get to the bottom of the situation. “And if so, what are we gonna do about it? Is she crossing the line? So, I’m working with the Department of Justice and finding out. Where is that line that they cross? So, maybe AOC’s gonna be in trouble now,” he concluded.
