Appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday, October 28, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) went on the wild attack against former president and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s rally in New York City’s Madison Square Garden over the previous weekend. Particularly, she contended that it was a “hate rally” that was “inciting violence” against minorities in America.
Melting down about the rally and having a temper tantrum over how the former president had managed to draw in thousands upon thousands of people to listen to and cheer for him at a rally in a deep blue city in a deep blue state, AOC went on the attack to frame it as a hateful event rather than good-natured presidential rally full of people excited to vote for a patriotic candidate.
Making that ridiculous and shocking claim about the well-attended and hugely popular Madison Square Garden Trump rally, Rep. AOC said, “This was a hate rally. This was not just a presidential rally. This was also not just a campaign rally. I think it’s very important for people to understand that these are mini January 6 rallies.”
Continuing, AOC insisted that the rally, rather than being meant to get an electorate excited to vote for him, it was meant to incite violence and get the electorate ready to reject the election. She said, “These are mini ‘Stop The Steal’ rallies. That’s what they’re doing when they are inciting violence and hatred against Latinos, against black Americans, against Americans who don’t have children.”
She also went on the hysterical attack against JD Vance, saying, “I mean, you have JD Vance literally talking about watering down people’s right to vote, depending on if they can viably carry a child or not.” Continuing with that, she said, “We have to understand how unhinged this campaign has gotten. And the only reason that their rhetoric has gotten this far is precisely because they are trying to prime the kind of froth that led up to the January 6 attack on the Capitol.”
Then, going berserk about a joke made about Puerto Rico being a floating island of garbage, AOC claimed, “Right now the campaign is scrambling, and they’re trying to blame this rhetoric on a so-called comedian. This is not a comedian. This is the Trump campaign. They invited this rhetoric on their stage for a reason. It was a chorus of speakers on that campaign for a reason. It was vetted and they knew exactly who was going to say what before they went on.”
She added, commenting on the supposed importance of Puerto Rican voters to this election, “The only backtracking that they’re doing right now, is just because tens of thousands of Puerto Ricans happen to live in Philadelphia, Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin. And also the several swing seats in the House in the end, in the House of Representatives that run through the state of New York.”
And, of course, she freaked out about January 6, saying, “All of this is exactly a replay of what Donald Trump did on January 6. We don’t have to think about if this is what happens. This is their playbook that they have used that led to the deaths of multiple people on Jan. 6. This led to one of the largest attacks in American history on the American Capitol, on U.S. soil.”
