A man who was caught on video shoving a reporter with Turning Point USA to the ground in what appeared to be a coordinated attack during an anti-ICE protest in April 2026 has revealed that he’s so surprised by the reaction to his violent actions that he’s thinking about leaving the country. Chris Ostroushko was captured on numerous videos from various angles from onlookers and participants in the event, brutally shoving the reporter to the ground.
Ostroushko was attending the event with his daughter, Paige Ostroushko. The two then tag-teamed together in an attack against TPUSA reporter Savanah Hernandez, hitting and shoving her as she filmed B-roll footage of the demonstration, which took place outside of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Hernandez shared a clip from an interview on One America News that featured Ostroushko insisting that he and his family are the actual victims of the violent altercation, going on to say they have experienced “nonstop” harassment ever since the clip went viral. Hernandez had shared footage of the incident on her X account when it originally happened.
“I don’t know if you guys are getting the same type of stuff that we’re getting, and it’s nonstop, it’s hundreds of phone calls a day, it’s text messages, and trying to get into all of our social media accounts and contacting our friends, our neighbors, our family, the rest of our family is getting doxed as well,” Ostroushko went on to say in the clip shared by Hernandez, according to The Daily Caller.
“It’s not just us, it’s, it’s my sons, their wives, like people had nothing to do with anything,” he stated of the reactions to his attack on Hernandez. “It’s, it’s, a little overwhelming, and, and, and makes me second guess even living in this country, to be honest with you, with all that’s going on. I’ve never had this happen in my life.”
Hernandez also shared another clip on her X account that shows the elder Ostroushko telling his daughter, who attends the University of Wisconsin, to grab a whistle from their vehicle and proceed to blow it “right in her f***ing ear.” The footage also shows Hernandez using a hand to create space between herself and Paige who can be seen invading her personal space.
Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet K. Dhillon indicated in a response to the video of the attack, seemingly indicating that a federal investigation would be opened concerning the incident. The scuffle left Hernandez with a concussion. Hernandez then revealed that Ostroushko had been making rounds in the media to attempt twisting the narrative to make them appear like the victims.

“Chris and Deyanna have been going on a press tour continuing to assert that they are the real victims, despite millions watching the footage of them instigating everything,” Hernandez wrote on social media. “Paige Ostroushko has also been bragging about how she’s free and hasn’t been arrested,” the TPUSA reporter added.
“As of now the Hennepin County DA’s office has made zero statement regarding whether or not they will be charging this family and the FBI and DHS investigation into this family is still ongoing. As of now no charges have been filed against any of them and they are all still walking free,” she concluded. The original post from Hernandez was published on April 12, 2026.
