Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly criticized Chrissy Teigen over her controversial “non-existent dress” she wore to the White House correspondent’s dinner in 2023, using the incident to deliver a broader commentary on the elite class. However, as the spat intensified when Teigen’s husband, John Legend, jumped in the exchange, Kelly continued sounding off.
Speaking about the correspondent’s dinner last year, Kelly began, “Chrissy Teagan, who showed up there like she was literally going to the coronation. Here she is with John, legend, her husband. She has, by my count, three minions following her. That’s minions and curfew following her, holding the dress or the train of her non-existent dress,” she said.
“I can see underwear, okay. I can see London. I see France. I see Chrissy’s underpants,” she added, calling out how revealing the attire was. “Which nobody shows underpants at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Okay, Chrissy, they just don’t do it, and nobody shows up with serfs to carry their train, which there shouldn’t be on your White House Correspondents Dinner dress anyway, because it’s barely a formal event.”
Making a point about how out of touch the liberal political elite are, Kelly said, “The absurdity of this … it’s just in a picture. It’s everything wrong, the elitism the serfs behind her self-importance, the aggrandizement of this big, stupid event. It just tells you everything, you know, who everything is relevant.”
Following her comments about Teigen, Legend weighed in on the controversy, suggesting Kelly only called out his wife because she was “desperate for attention.” Kelly said, “John Legend had some choice words for yours truly after I mocked his elitist, out-of-touch wife for having her minions carrying her ‘train’ to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner while she was showing off her underwear.”
Further addressing the response from Legend, Kelly continued, “Okay, John suggested I only mocked his wife because I’m desperate for attention.” Not holding back on Legend, she continued, “Sweet John, it must be so hard to live with that every day and night and see anything else as you survey the women of this world, when one’s wife shows her panties to the president, it’s probably really embarrassing. I get it work your view on women on this earth.”
The American Tribune recently reported on other comments from Kelly when she slammed an MSNBC panel for “sneering” at Americans who were concerned about illegal immigration. Sounding off on the liberal co-hosts, she said, “Tell it to the family of the 14-year-old girl in Campbell County, Virginia, who was just sexually assaulted by an illegal from Venezuela who’s now been arrested and charged after he crossed illegally into El Paso, Texas in September of 23 this past September and released into the United States by the feds.”
“You don’t show up with three people holding your train, madam. A lesson to those who are going to The Met Gala tonight. You also look like an elitist snob when you show up there with the three people – the servants who are masked, and you’re not…”@megynkelly slams Chrissy… pic.twitter.com/LQWQRlKuoM

Kelly continued, “About one eight Virginia residents today was born in a foreign country. One in four very young people, as a foreign-born parent in Virginia, in Fairfax County public schools, roughly 20% of students struggle to speak English. Migration has completely reshaped the Commonwealth of Virginia, where I used to live as well. This is why they laugh and sneer at their own peril. They’ll learn in November what the truth is.”
