Things got absolutely wild during a hearing in the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Constitution and Limited Government on Wednesday, May 13, when a 16-year-old patriot named Marco Hunter-Lopez totally shut down far-left hack Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) during a hearing and feud about Sharia Law and freedom of religion in America.
The hearing discussed the matter of Sharia Law and the United States Constitution, and was titled, “Why Political Islam & Sharia Law are Incompatible with the U.S. Constitution”. It was meant to “examine how the rise of Sharia law in America poses serious risks to our civil liberties, founding principles, and republican system of government. It will also discuss how Sharia-based institutions may violate federal law and the Constitution. In addition, the hearing will discuss proposed legislative reforms on this topic.”
In the midst of the hearing, Lopez, a high school student from Texas who has been involved in the issue through his involvement with Turning Point USA, got in a furious back-and-forth fight with Rep. Jamie Raskin in which he humiliated the woke representative by demonstrating a better understanding of American law and history than the congressman.
That began when Rep. Raskin, berating the young man, tried to point to Jefferson’s commentary on law and religion in America and insisted, “Jefferson described in the letter to Danbury Baptist—” Shooting back before Raskin could even finish, Lopez noted, “That’s a letter, not a law.”
Bizarrely, Rasking took that to mean that the young man was pushing “theocracy” and that America is such a system, an utterly absurd claim. He insisted, on that point, after being shot down by the young patriot, “So your position is that America is a theocracy?!”
Then, trying to finish his original statement and rebut the congressman’s angry diatribe about theocracy, Lopez said, “You didn’t let me finish my original statement. What I am saying is we need to acknowledge—” At that point, Raskin cut him off again and kept rambling about the same sort of thing.
Lopez, annoyed, insisted that Raskin’s general drift and argument were wrong, and that America has a Christian heritage that should be honored, respected, and part of our national culture and conversation. He said, “We do need to acknowledge our Christian heritage in America.”

Raskin absurdly took that to mean that Lopez was calling for theocracy, and again insisted, “You can’t impose an establishment of religion on other people.” Lopez immediately fired back and noted just how ridiculous and nonsensical that interpretation of what he had said was. He fired back, “I didn’t suggest that at all!”
Rasking then blandly insisted, “Everyone can acknowledge their own heritage,” though of course he had just disagreed with that in the context of Christianity. Lopez immediately shot back, “AMERICAN HERITAGE.” That, in turn, led to Raskin asking, “…Muslim heritage?” And Lopez noted that members of Congress ought be thinking about American culture and history rather than foreign cultures and faiths, saying, “I’m saying MEMBERS OF CONGRESS need to acknowledge American heritage.”
