In a powerful event at the Museum of the Bible, President Donald Trump and a number of other figures, including a 12-year-old boy, spoke out about the role of faith in American public life and the need to protect our religious freedoms from the sort of virulently anti-Christian faith leftists who are in positions of administrative power all over the country.
Amongst those who spoke at the event was 12-year-old Shea Encinas, a young kid who spoke out about how his school tried to force him to read a book about transgender individuals to kindergarteners in his school, and how he had been bullied by the school for refusing to go along with the leftist ideology that conflicted with his Christian faith.
Welcoming Shea on stage to comment on what happened at his school and how it was wrong, the president said, “Last year, in fifth grade, Shea was forced to read a book to a Kindergarten student promoting a message of radical gender ideology that is contrary to his religious beliefs and ours.”
After being introduced by President Trump, the brave child said, “Hi, I’m Shane Encinas. I’ve been a Christian my whole life, and Jesus means everything to me. When I was in fifth grade, my school forced me to teach my kindergarten buddy about changing his gender using a book called My Shadow Is Pink. The book said you can choose your gender based on feelings instead of how God made us.”
Continuing, the kid explained how he spoke out about it and the school went to war with him over his Christian faith, saying, “I knew this was not right, but I was afraid of getting in trouble after my family spoke up, the school treated us badly, and kids started bullying me and my brother because of our faith, and the school did nothing to stop it.”
He then noted that he trusted God despite the pain brought on by his strong adherence to his faith, saying, “It hurt a lot, but I kept trusting God. I believe kids like me should be able to live our faith at school without being forced to go against what we believe. I hope no other family has to go through what mine did.” President Trump then congratulated him on doing a “great job.”

Further, commenting on the importance of faith, he said, “America has always been a nation that believes in the power of prayer and we will never apologize for our faith — ever, ever, never, never. We will never surrender our God-given rights. We will defend our liberties, our values, our sovereignty, and we will defend our freedom.”
