In a case which drew national attention, Travis Decker, a 32-year-old former Army soldier, is wanted for the murder and kidnapping of his three daughters, aged five, eight, and nine, in Wenatchee, Washington. The three girls were reported missing after Decker failed to return them following interrogation, and were later found dead from asphyxiation near his abandoned truck.

For context, Decker has a history of mental health issues and is considered dangerous. Authorities have offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and vowed not to rest until he is apprehended.

Explaining the details of the story, Jackie Kent, a local reporter, took to X on June 3, 2025, saying, “The report NOW: Wenatchee PD sharing investigation details after three young sisters found dead. Their father Travis Decker is named as a suspect and remains missing. There is now a $20k reward for info leading to an arrest.”

Continuing the update to the public, the journalist revealed, “PD says the girls’ bodies were found in close proximity to Decker’s unoccupied vehicle in Wenatchee, but Decker was nowhere to be found. Search continues in Chelan Co with help from regional, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.”

Concluding her remarks, she explained that law enforcement is devoted to finding the suspect. She declared, “Sheriff Morrison not sharing much detail about scene where the girls were found during the investigation. Says law enforcement will not rest until Decker is found.”

Promising to apprehend the murderer, the Washington State Patrol told Fox News Digital, “We are all turning our heartbreak into focus. There is work to be done in apprehending this man. Due to safety concerns do not attempt to contact or approach Decker.”

Providing more details, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office said, “The U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force is working closely with the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office to locate and apprehend this fugitive” and “a reward of up to $20,000 is available for information leading directly to Mr. Decker’s arrest.”

One detective working on the case had “expressed concern because Decker reportedly has never done this before and … is currently experiencing some mental health issues.” Echoing this sentiment, another policeman said, “What prompted her to call us was that … he was late returning the girls and had not communicated to her that he was going to be late, which was his typical fashion, and so this was out of the ordinary.”

Speaking directly to the suspect, Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison declared, “Travis, if you’re listening, this is your opportunity to turn yourself in. Do the right thing, do what you need to do. And take accountability for your actions. We’re not gonna go away, we’re not going to rest, and we’re gonna make sure we find you.”

Issuing her own statement, School Superintendent Kory Kalahar said, “Our immediate and utmost priority is the well-being of the Lincoln Elementary community. We are focusing all our efforts on providing comprehensive support to their students, staff, and families during this unimaginable time.”
