We live in a time when NBA stars are flashing guns (Ja Morant), beating up teenagers (Ja Morant, again), and many NFL players can’t seem to stay on the right side of Johnny Law. Joe Mixon, calling you out! The only guns KJ Osborn have been flashing are the ones he used to help free a dying man from a burning car when the Uber he was riding in happened upon a head on collision in Austin, Texas Sunday night. Wasting no time, Osborn and three others sprung into action doing their best Super Friends impressions. Heroic stuff! Check this out via the Star Tribune:
Osborn shared the story on his verified Twitter account about how he helped carry a man away from the flaming wreckage of a car accident. During an appearance on NFL Network, Osborn said first responders told the group, “we saved this man’s life,” after Osborn, the driver of his car, and two bystanders acted quickly upon seeing the accident under a bridge. The 25-year-old said he couldn’t sleep Sunday night, and commended the efforts of the three others with him.

Who does that? Who just abandons their own safety and rushes to a burning car for a complete stranger? A bad-ass named KJ Osborn and the three folks that assisted, that’s who! In this me-first age, especially with celebrities and athletes, it makes you have hope that perhaps humanity isn’t circling the drain when you see stories like this. When you include exactly who Osborn gave credit to, it can change your perspective on what is important and who ultimately is in charge. Osborn went on to give the glory to God and credit the other three heroes that stepped in as well. Via The Star Tribune:
“Most of the time the saying goes ‘wrong place wrong time.’ But this time I believe God had me, us, at the right place at the exact right time.
“Last night myself and these 3 absolute heroes helped save a man’s life by rescuing him from a vehicle up in flames after a bad crash. A situation I’d never imagine being a part of in a million years.
“I’ll leave you with this. God is real. And His LOVE is real. He will send his angels to be camped around you and provide you with his grace and mercy.”
If that doesn’t make the hair on your arm stand up and give you some hope for humanity, then you are probably already lost, or a liberal. Not sure which is worse. Apparently, this is “on brand” for KJ Osborn according to Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, who had this to say courtesy of the Star Tribune:
Quarterback Kirk Cousins called the situation “on brand” for Osborn, the 2020 fifth-round pick who has become a reliable receiver and locker room favorite over three Vikings seasons.
“Just a tremendous person & teammate,” Cousins wrote on social media.
KJ Osborn is an emerging young star in Minnesota. He had some clutch grabs last season, playing opposite superstar receiver Justin Jefferson, but none of Jefferson or Osborn’s grabs will be more important than the one KJ and the three other people made Sunday night in Austin, Texas. God indeed will put people in situations that show their true character, and Osborn and the three other heroes showed theirs.
