Things got super entertaining both online and on Fox News Channel on Thursday, November 7, after bombshell actress Sydney Sweeney totally shut down a woke journalist from GQ who asked her to apologize for the famous “good jeans” ad that she ran with American Eagle. Benny Johnson then went on FNC to joke with Jesse Watters about Sweeney running alongside Vance in 2028.
As background, online critics claimed that Sweeney, who is a registered Republican, and the ad were “racist” because they highlighted her “good genes”. So, when Sweeney sat for an interview with Katherine Stoeffel of GQ, Stoeffel said, “The criticism of the content, which is that maybe, specifically in this political climate, white people shouldn’t joke about genetic superiority, like that was kind of the criticism, broadly speaking, and since you are talking about this I just wanted to give you the opportunity to talk about that, specifically.” Sweeney shot her down, saying, “I think that when I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear.”
That refusal to go along with the woke mob led to immense applause on X, and turned into joking calls for Sweeney to run alongside Vice President Vance in 2028. Benny Johnson, posting about it, said, “Why is everyone tweeting Vance-Sweeney 2028? Because Sydney Sweeney just proved that she has more balls than most politicians in Washington DC.”
He added, commenting on how her dismissive stare had vaporized Stoeffel’s woke talking point, “She atomized an insufferable, passive aggressive feminist with a single stare. She didn’t apologize for her viral jeans ad or take the bait, she refused to play the woke game. It was remarkable.Vance-Sweeney, think of the trade deals we could sign!”
Benny said much the same thing on Fox News, telling host Jesse Watters, “Jesse, everybody is obsessed right now with the government shutdown, but that is the single greatest shutdown in the history of media. What Sidney Sweeney did right there was a master class in destroying bad faith arguments with that insufferable, passive-aggressive, feline questioner who was asking questions in bad faith, engaging in the wrap-up smear.”
Continuing, he explained what tactic the GQ interrogator had tried using against Sweeney, saying, “And the wrap-up smear is a tried and true tactic of Democrats. What they do is they create a conspiracy theory about you, like Sydney Sweeney in a pair of blue jeans is somehow a Nazi. And then they merchandise it. They get a bunch of people to tweet about it and a bunch of people to write about it, and then they go to Sydney Sweeney, and they say, apologize for this. You’re guilty.”
Then, commenting on how Sweeney had totally torched that tactic by not playing along, he said, “And Sydney Sweeney did something remarkable there Jesse, she said, ‘No, I refuse. I’m not going to play your game. I’m not going to engage. I’m going to not allow you to smear me and to run some type of conspiracy theory about me wearing blue jeans.'”

Adding that she showed much more courage than the DC hacks who claim to represent us, Benny said, “And what’s incredible about that is that by doing so, she puts the final nail in the coffin of woke people aren’t doing this anymore, and she proved right there, that she has more balls than most of the politicians in DC, and that’s why people are tweeting today. Jesse, Vance-Sweeney 2028, I would love it.”
