A Utah couple tragically perished after an Arizona car crash, with their early passing made all the more tragic by the news that they were on their way to share the good news that there would be a grandbaby coming to the family soon, as the wife, Chloe Stott, was pregnant.
Apparently, Parker and Chloe Stott were on their way south from Utah to Arizona to inform their family members of Chloe’s pregnancy when, at about 8:20 pm on December 20th, their car collided head-on with a truck. Chloe was killed in the crash and Parker died days later in the hospital.
Their family members created a Facebook page after the horrific crash to inform others of what happened. Describing the crash a few days after it occurred and explaining the terribly tragic detail that they were on their way to celebrate the news that Chloe was pregnant, they said, “As many of you know, Parker and his beloved wife, Chloe, were in a head on collision with a semi truck at 8:30 Wednesday night on their way to Arizona from Utah, just outside of Wickenburg, AZ. Tragically, Chloe passed away at the scene. We are devastated and the world has truly lost one of its brightest lights. Chloe was extremely uplifting, inspiring, accomplished, and such a bright influence to so many around her. Even more heartbreaking, Chloe and Parker had recently found out they were pregnant. They were so excited to be parents and share the news with their loved ones over Christmas. The tragic car accident took the life of Chloe and their precious baby boy.”
Continuing, they then said that Parker somehow survived and was stabilized by the first responders and hospital, saying, “By the looks of the truck they were in, we still have no idea how Parker miraculously survived. He was immediately life flighted to Valleywise in Phoenix. Parker’s injuries are extensive. He broke just about every bone in his lower body, and suffered extreme burns (30% of both legs). Amazingly, no face, head or neck injuries. After the godsent team of surgeons worked on him for several hours, it was determined that they needed to amputate his right leg, as the burns were just too extensive. After his first major surgery that lasted all night, they got him stabilized and let him rest for a few hours and his family got to see him for the first time. He is intubated and heavily sedated, and will probably need to remain in that state for a while until all the surgeries are complete. We will continue to post updates as they come. Thank you for the outpouring of prayers and love.”
Sadly, what was initially good news soon soured, as later medical procedures revealed that Parker was in far worse of a condition than the hospital staff had initially suspected, and that took an even worse turn for the worse when he tragically passed a few hours later.
Explaining how doctors discovered that things were worse than initially suspected in that post, the family said, “Early this morning, Parker went in for his 3rd surgery to do some clean up on his burns, as well as start on some skin grafting for his leg. At the completion of the surgery, the surgeons delivered the news that Parker’s injuries were even more extensive than what we were already aware of and the outlook was extremely bleak.”
Continuing, the post described Parker’s tragical passing, saying, “A few hours later, we received the update that Parker’s vitals were dropping and he was going fast. We gather around him as a family, kissed him, hugged him, held his hand, told him just how much we loved him and how proud we were of him. He is the strongest person and has fought so hard. At 6:47pm, Parker grew his angel wings to fly him to Heaven to be with his sweet love Chloe and their baby. He also was warmly welcomed by his father-in-law Sheldon, who he will finally get that chance to meet for the first time.”
Concluding, the family members tried to end on a positive note, saying, “As deeply saddened as we are to loose Parker, who had such a positive impact on so many people’s lives and brought us all so much happiness here on Earth, we are so thankful for God’s mercy that he gets to be with Chloe and relieved from all this pain. We know they are in a better place and get to be together. We know they will be watching over us, cheering us all on until we get to reunite with them again. We love you forever Chloe & Parker”
