The world of mainstream media was stunned when Fox News suddenly announced the departure of longtime host Maria Bartiromo after three decades with the network. Not many details were released following the firing, which has left folks puzzled about the reasons for her firing, especially due to her being such a strong positive voice on the network for President Donald Trump.
Newsmax host Greg Kelly sat down for an interview with Peter Navarro, who is serving in the Trump administration as the senior counselor for trade and manufacturing, and revealed that the White House is furious with Bartiromo’s firing and provided a peek behind the curtain concerning how things work at Fox News, which is going to make MAGA supporters even angrier.
In a clip of the interview that is now going viral, Kelly asked Navarro, “Maria’s out of a job. I want to ask you though, like, how — what did you do with the text message? You forwarded it up the chain? Who did you show it to?” Navarro responded by saying that he can’t go into all of the details, joking about his short stint in prison in the process. “I’m not getting into the details. Remember, I went to prison, Greg, for not violating executive privilege,” Navarro said.
“But suffice it to say that Suzanne Scott got a call, and basically the White House let her know that that kind of thing is totally unacceptable,” he continued. He then slammed Scott for not accepting what went down and just going ahead with the firing of Bartiromo, calling Fox News out of control. “She didn’t accept that at all. She just went out and fired Maria Bartiromo, and that place is out of control. And the problem, Greg, is at the at the producer level as well,” he added.
Navarro then mentioned a specific producer, Ralph Giordano, which he referred to as the tip of Scott’s spear when it comes to censorship, which he later accuses the outlet of engaging in when it comes to President Donald Trump. “There’s a guy over there named Ralph Giordano who is basically her tip of her spear, censorship spear. That’s what this is. It’s censorship, right?” he asked Kelly.
“And so what the producers are told by Suzanne Scott, who’s the CEO at Fox, is okay when you when you craft your segments for like the the equivalent of Greg Kelly every day, whatever the show is. It’s like you don’t do these MAGA issues. You don’t do pro-Trump stuff. I understand. You have your A, B, C, and D block, and it’s out,” he concluded.
According to a report from NBC News, Bartiromo claims she wasn’t fired from the company. A statement from her attorney said, “For many years, Maria Bartiromo hosted three No. 1-rated television shows on Fox channels. “The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false. Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise.”
