Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas has officially called for the House of Representatives to impeach President Joe Biden after allegations from two whistleblowers within the Internal Revenue Service have exposed a “stunning” amount of corruption in the current administration during an episode of his podcast that aired last Friday, according to the Daily Caller.
Cruz cited information contained in recently released testimony from the two whistleblowers concerning the investigation into Hunter Biden, the crack addicted son of President Joe Biden, for tax evasion and other financial crimes, during an episode of “Verdict With Ted Cruze.” The Texas Republican said that if these allegations are indeed true, it warrants the impeachment of the commander-in-chief.
“These allegations are not coming from partisan Republicans, they are coming from career, senior IRS officials and investigators who are appalled — absolutely appalled — at what happened,” Cruz said during the program.
Among the allegations that Cruz detailed on the show was one that claims Biden officials working in the Justice Department sought to interfere with any sort of investigation into his misdeeds. And this is aside from the avoidance of paying taxes on $2.2 million.
The Senator also discussed a recent WhatsApp message dated from July 2017, where Hunter Biden attempts to pull a page from Mario Puzo’s classic novel, “The Godfather,” and threaten a Chinese business associate with the backing of his father to demand a massive payment.
“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled,” Hunter Biden allegedly said in the message. “Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight.”
“And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father,” the message allegedly added.
Cruz, who compared the message to a “smoking gun” and to the information that was given to Watergate investigators by the now infamous “Deep Throat,” then said it’s absolutely time for the House to kick off impeachment proceedings against Biden.
“Look, this WhatsApp is direct evidence of Joe Biden abusing his government power to enrich his son, and, assuming 10% for the big guy, to enrich himself,” Cruz remarked.
If Merrick Garland really issued an order prohibiting further investigation into Hunter Biden's business dealings as the IRS whistleblower alleges, then I think there's real evidence that he's guilty of obstruction of justice.https://t.co/O1lXqhwNvZ

“You can’t corruptly take bribes from foreign nationals. You can’t do it as vice president, you can’t do it as president, and if you are profiting to the tune of millions of dollars from foreign nationals, you should be impeached, you should be prosecuted, you should go to jail,” Cruz said.
Cruz did admit, however, that there would not be any real support for the measure from Democrats, but he said that if the House presented a very strong fact-based case, maybe the House could raise enough votes in support of impeachment.
The Texas Senator then laid out what must be done in order to create a compelling cast. He said that the allegations made by the whistleblowers, along with the text messages, need to be probed by folks in the House, as the whistleblowers have alleged they were prevented from being able to look into the truthfulness of the message by individuaqls within the DOJ.
“We don’t know if it’s true or not. Why? Because, according to the whistleblower, they didn’t investigate, and they were prohibited from investigating. They were prevented from even asking the question,” Cruz explained.
During the program, Cruz criticized many of his Democratic peers, along with Attorney General Merrick Garland, for trying to find ways to flout the law of the land. “If you had a single Democrat who gave a flying flip about the rule of law, we would have a hearing right now with Merrick Garland in front of us, under oath, asking about this WhatsApp,” Cruz remarked.
