In a series of posts to social media, conservatives expressed their anger with the GOP-controlled Congress’s inability to pass legislation in the face of a historic mandate from the president. In those posts, they noted that despite a complete trifecta, with the GOP holding a majority in the House, Senate, and White House, Republicans delivered a record of stunning inaction: only 38 laws passed, which is the fewest in the first year of any presidency since at least 1989.
Many critics pointed to weak leaders like Speaker Johnson and Leader Thune, who they accused of being RINOs and swamp creatures who squandered the mandate through internal divisions and fear of tough votes. Several also made calls to primary establishment figures in 2026
Breaking down the situation, one user noted, “🚨 NEW: Republican Congress Sets EMBARRASSING Record for DO-NOTHING in 2025! GOP-controlled House & Senate passed JUST 38 laws this year, the FEWEST in the first year of ANY presidency since 1989!”
Continuing, the same source added, “House cast a pathetic record-low votes, barely half of what Republicans did in 2017. We gave Republicans the House, Senate, and White House to DELIVER on mass deportations, slashing spending, huge Govt cuts, election integrity, draining the DC Swamp, and ALL America First promises.”
Rounding out this furious post to social media, the account noted, “Instead? Gridlock. Excuses. RINOs and weak leaders squandered our massive mandate.” When the post went viral, dozens of conservatives expressed their anger.
Responding to this post, one user noted, “The RINOs are clearly working with the democrats to sabotage Trump’s America First agenda. It couldn’t be more obvious. Thune and Johnson are both uniparty cult and should never be trusted. FJT and FMJ.”
Reacting to this post in the comments, one conservative said, “It’s beyond obvious at this point and they could care less. We need a better strategy to make more progress in congress.” Agreeing, another added, “We need a Constitutional change with laws for our elected officials of do’s and don’ts with strong action against those committing crimes against the people.”

Enraged, another dispondnet Republcian voter said, “It’s the entire Republican Party. They’re no better than the Democrats. They’re treasonous complicit scum too. Democrats couldn’t have pulled 2020 off without overwhelming Republican support. We have the most corrupt government in the world.”
Advocating for a solution, one reply stated, “Trump should spend his last two years to primary every RINO out of office and give JD a clear runway to enact all the #MAGA/#AmericaFirst policies.” Building on this point, another added, “@LeaderJohnThune @SpeakerJohnson will be remembered in history as 2 of the men who help destroy this country ..making their democratic overlords happy ..”
Indicating this has been a problem for almost the entire administration, a popular post from early 2025 noted, “We need to send a message to [email protected] will be ZERO ACTION this week on issues that are important to Americans. They were set to vote on the SAVE Act, reining in rogue judges, and more.”
Later, responding to GOP faiures to pass a provision budget, a cosnervative quipped, “This is absolutely ridiculous. Speaker Johnson has presided over the laziest GOP majority Congress in the history of America. They could be rolling back 100 regulations a day and cutting wasteful spending but they are instead doing nothing.”
