The recent “Twitter Files” released by Elon Musk exposed undeniable corruption within the governance of the social media platform. The files uncovered evidence that Twitter employees were colluding with the Biden administration to delete content that didn’t favor the now president.
Conservative actor James Woods was one of the Twitter accounts affected by the censorship. When Woods discovered his content was marked for deletion, he posted a series of tweets demonstrating he is ready to take action toward the Biden administration and former leadership of Twitter:
“How is the Twitter Files chicanery any different from Watergate in sum and substance?
Nixon resigned when his henchmen tried to subvert free speech.
Your turn, Mr. Biden.”

“Agree. How would you like to fund a class action suit for those who were suppressed? I’ll be happy to be lead plaintiff. Thank you, @elonmusk“

“To my friends in the Democratic Party:
This now documented attack by the DNC is a troubling issue that transcends politics. If the shoe were on the other foot, you would rightfully be enraged. Please join us as Americans on this one. It’s too important to do otherwise. #Twitter”

“To my friends in the Republican Party:
If your patriotism is genuine, not all bluff and bluster, let loose the dogs of war.
Because true patriots will no longer stand to see our rights trampled by the DNC and its slimy cronies in media and the bowels of government. #Twitter“

James Woods was not holding back in these tweets. He first compared the Twitter Files to the corruption of the Watergate scandal, implying Biden should resign over this disruption of free speech. He further indicates a possible lawsuit against the parties involved. Woods then calls on Democrats to recognize the threat to democracy that this behavior poses.
Perhaps most importantly, the actor demands the Republican party to effectively wield their political power and take action against the corruption in front of their faces. A few years ago, the GOP controlled the House and Senate during an important Big Tech hearing regarding censorship on social media. Despite control of Congress, Republicans produced nothing from these hearings that would compel social media companies to enforce fairness and freedom of speech on their platforms.
Now that the GOP at least controls the House, Woods urges them to make use of their power as to protect the rights of Americans. Potentially answering the actor’s call, Rep. James Comer announced he will plan an investigation into the Twitter Files as the incoming chairman of the House Oversight Committee.
Comer stated in a recent interview:
“I can promise you this, every employee at Twitter who was involved in suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story will have an opportunity to come before Congress and explain their actions to the American people. This was a huge story. … But this story’s just beginning, Jason, because we’re going to have every single person at Twitter that was involved in this in front of the House Oversight Committee as soon as possible.”
