Trump Vows to “Save” NYC from “Communist Lunatic” Democrat Mayoral Candidate

President Donald Trump pulled no punches while sounding off on New York City’s far-left Democrat mayoral candidate, Zohran Mamdani, on Wednesday, July 2. Doing so, the president vowed to save the city from what would be inflicted on it by Zohran winning the election and ushering the city down a path of certain destruction.

As background, Mamdani is a radical communist and Muslim who was born in Uganda and became a naturalized United States citizen only a few years ago. Despite his relatively recent history as a US citizen, he is running for the mayor’s office in NYC and is predicted to embark on a radical agenda if he wins it, as was shown by his recent calls to increase taxation on “whiter” neighborhoods.

Posting about the matter on Truth Social, the president said that he would use his powers as POTUS to stop Mamdami from destroying New York City, something that would be an absolute catastrophe were it to happen. He said, “As President of the United States, I’m not going to let this Communist Lunatic destroy New York.”

Continuing, the president said that he has all the levers of power he needs to ensure such an outcome doesn’t occur and that he will make New York City great again, writing, “Rest assured, I hold all the levers, and have all the cards. I’ll save New York City, and make it ‘Hot’ and ‘Great’ again, just like I did with the Good Ol’ USA!”

Hinting at how he might stop Mamdami in comments to Fox News, the president indicated that he could yank funding away from the city in order to force it to comply with him and avert its current path to destruction. He said, “I can tell you this – whoever’s mayor of New York is going to have to behave themselves, or the federal government is coming down very tough on them financially.”

Similarly, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, joined in the attacks on Mamdami and noted that Trump would have trouble working with an outright “communist,” saying, “Surely someone who holds these values and is quite literally a communist and condemns every value that makes this country great: common sense, law and order, low taxes, working hard, and earning your keep in this country. He’s against all of that. And I think the president would find it difficult to work with someone like that, if he is elected.”

Also chiming in on the general situation of Trump and New York City was NYPD Chief of Department John Chell, who appeared for an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo and told her that Trump is helping establish “law and order” in NYC again, saying, “So, President Trump is law and order. Eric Adams is law and order. We’re about law and order. We have to keep the city safe. … We had migrants committing violent crimes on mopeds. We had TDA in our society, committing every crime you could think of.”

He added that things have changed much for the better with President Trump in charge saying, “We’ve taken them out by virtue of our detective bureau, our federal partners. We’ve taken guns off the streets from these migrants and those crimes on mopeds have subsided. So, yes, it has changed.”
