Speaking recently at the North Carolina Republican Party’s Greensboro, NC convention, former President Donald Trump got particularly animated when discussing the issue of biological men competing in women’s sports, characterizing the current situation as unfair and vowing to do his utmost if reelected to protect women’s sports.
Making that pledge, he said, while making a funny weightlifting motion with his arms, “I will keep men out of women’s sports.” The audience loved that, responding to his pledge with raucous applause.
Emphasizing why that pledge was necessary, Trump did his usual thing and told a story. He spoke of longstanding women’s athletic records getting “obliterated” by trans athletes, focusing particularly on the sport of weightlifting. As he told the story, a woman who was a “great champion” won by lifting “something like 218 pounds.” That was her limit, as far as she could push herself, Trump said. Then, lifting an imaginary weight with his hands while getting to the point of the story, Trump said, “Then a guy comes along. Bingo!” In other words, the trans athlete blew the previous record out of the water.
Adding to that, he said, “But you know what, honestly, it’s really demeaning to women.” Then, emphasizing his point about the athletic disparity between biological women and trans athletes, Trump said, “Some women are being badly injured by the windburn that’s caused by the man going so much faster. The wind is blowing. It’s just terrible. It’s so unfair.”
During the speech, Trump also vowed that, if elected, he would make “child sexual mutilation” illegal across the entire country. That would follow the steps taken by red states like Texas and Tennessee, which have already attempted to ban transgender surgeries for minors.
Trump made a similar pledge during his speech in Georgia, saying that he would “keep men out of women’s sports” to the applause of the crowd. Watch that here:

Trump has mostly avoided the transgender topic on Truth Social recently, focusing instead on his indictment in Miami, which he characterized as being politically motivated and election interference.
In one post, for example, he blasted the indictment and slammed the left as being full of “misfits, mutants, Marxists, and communists,” saying, “REALLY BIG FUNDRAISING, EVEN GREATER POLLS, SINCE THE RADICAL LEFT INDICTMENT HOAX WAS INITIATED BY THE MISFITS, MUTANTS, MARXISTS, & COMMUNISTS! THANK YOU !!!”
In another post, Trump noted that an investigation into him had been dropped, which he said was the “honorable” decision, but noted that even baseless investigations into him and attacks on him are reputation-destroying events. In his words: “AFTER GOING THROUGH A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION FOR TWO YEARS BY THE DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NEW YORK, IT WAS JUST ANNOUNCED THAT THE CASE HAS BEEN DROPPED, AND NO CHARGES WILL BE FILED. THIS WAS THE HONORABLE THING TO DO IN THAT I DID NOTHING WRONG, BUT WHERE AND WHEN DO I GET MY REPUTATION BACK? WHEN WILL THE OTHER FAKE CASES AGAINST ME BE DROPPED? ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!”
He also said that the government is coming after him because they want to destroy his supporters, but he’s in the way and blocking them from doing so without getting him first. As he put it: “They want to take away my FREEDOM because I will never let them take away your FREEDOM. They are not coming after me. They are coming after you. I just happen to be standing in their way, and I will NEVER be moving.“
