In huge news announced on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 20, the campaign of former President Donald Trump and Trump himself announced that the president would ban transgender surgeries for minors without parental consent and enforce the edict with felony prosecutions for those who try to carry out the surgeries without parental consent.
Trump’s personal pledge on the matter came when he gave prepared remarks at a campaign rally on the same Tuesday at the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department in the town of Howell, Michigan. In the prepared remarks released by the Trump campaign ahead of the rally, Trump spoke about both such surgeries and child trafficking, vowing stiff penalties.
As to the situation regarding child traffickers, the prepared remarks said, “I am announcing today that I will be asking for the death penalty for child rapists and child traffickers.” Continuing, the remarks said, “And to protect our children from sexual mutilation, we will make it a felony for any medical professional to perform surgery on a minor without parental consent.”
Further, Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt posted “BIG NEWS” in response to a post from Fox News Channel’s Aishah Hasnie. Hasnie, in her post, announced the new Trump policy regarding trans surgeries for minors. She said, “ALSO — He will make it a FELONY for any medical professional to perform surgery on a minor without parental consent.”
Trump, speaking about the same issue in the summer of 2023 at a Moms for Liberty conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, said that he would stop the transitions generally. He said, “On Day One, I will sign an executive order instructing every federal agency to cease the promotion of sex or gender transition at any age. They’re not gonna do it anymore,”
He continued, saying, “I will declare that any hospital or health-care provider that participates in the chemical or physical mutilation of minor youth no longer meets federal health and safety standards—they will be terminated from receiving federal funds effective immediately. And I will ask Congress… to send a bill to my desk prohibiting child sexual mutilation in all 50 states.”
Speaking about much the same situation as regards schools and what sort of woke ideas they push on their pupils, Trump said, at the same conference, “On Day One, I will sign a new executive order to cut federal funding for any school pushing critical race theory, transgender insanity, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children.”
Trump added that he would go after schools that push such things regardless, using the DOJ to do so. Making that pledge, he said, “for any schools that are engaged in these militant and country-destroying practices, I will instruct the DOJ to pursue them as violators of the Establishment Clause, or the free exercise clause, of our constitution.”
Earlier in 2023, back in February of that year, former President Trump released a video in which he vowed to ban “child sexual mutilation” if re-elected as president. Watch that video here:
