Recently, Newsmax host Eric Bolling sat down for an interview with former President Donald Trump, where the two discussed issues such as electric vehicles, border, security, and the Christmas season. Trump honed in on these problems, stating that “common sense” is driving his surging poll numbers as voters expect more from the current political regime.
Bolling congratulated the former president and leading Republican primary candidate on the recent polling data showing Trump ahead of Biden in many critical swing states ahead of the election. In light of this encouraging news, the Newsmax host asked Trump if he had a special “Christmas message” to deliver.
“But. Well, Mr. President, I know you’re busy, and I just wanted to congratulate you on new the new polling came out just a, you know, 48 hours ago or less. You’re leading Biden by wider margins in all seven of the important swing states. Congratulations on the polls. It’s one thank you for your time. And if you have a Christmas message for the folks, it’s all you,” Bolling said.
“Well, thank you very much. And first of all, we have been friends for a long time and I have a lot of respect for the job you do. So it’s an honor to be with you. And we’ve known each other a long time. But it’s an honor, you know, And it’s a message. It’s a message of common sense. When you say the polls, it’s true. We have phenomenal polls in Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina and Nevada all over all over the country. New York, too, by the way. And you’re looking at the numbers,” Trump responded.
Trump explained how his poll numbers show a reaction of “common sense” among American voters as they witness chaos and disorder across the country. Trump particularly calls out unfettered illegal immigration through the southern border.
“But it’s really also a message of common sense when they see people flooding our country and we do nothing about it. And I say we’re going to start with the safest border in the history of our country. We’re going to get back to there and even better numbers than I am. But when you look at the stupidity of what’s taking place right now with that, everybody from mental institutions, from prisons, let terrorists, let them all pour into our country unchecked, just unchecked, unvetted,” the former president continued.
Trump further addressed the EV agenda the Democrats are forcing on the auto industry. While he maintains that everyone should be able to purchase and EV if it aligns with their consumer preferences, Trump seems to imply that there should be no regulation disincentivizing the production and sale of traditional gas-powered cars.
“It’s so crazy when you look at the fact that they want to raise taxes, when they want to take away your car and give you an electric car, that doesn’t go far. You got to you got to charge it up every 2 minutes. It’s ridiculous what’s going on. You should be able to buy an electric car, but you should be able to buy a combustion gas combustion car, a gasoline operated car. It’s so crazy what they’re doing, destroying our country,” he added. “And it’s step by step. And it seems to be systematic, but we’re not going to let it happen. And I think that’s why the poll numbers are great.”
