In a much-needed change, the Trump administration, via the Energy Department’s Office of Energy Dominance Financing, announced the cancellation of nearly $30 billion in Biden-era green energy loans and revisions to another $53 billion following a year-long review of the portfolio.
Explaining the situation, Energy Secretary Chris Wright criticized rushed disbursements in Biden’s final months that exceeded 15 years’ worth of prior totals and emphasized protecting taxpayer dollars while prioritizing affordable, reliable energy. Actions include eliminating $9.5 billion for wind and solar, which was redirected to natural gas or nuclear, and building on prior cancellations, such as $8 billion in grants that halted 223 projects.
“Over the past year, the Energy Department individually reviewed our entire loan portfolio to ensure the responsible investment of taxpayer dollars,” said Energy Secretary Chris Wright to explain the significant change in policy. Describing the previous situation, he added, “We found more dollars were rushed out the door of the Loan Programs Office in the final months of the Biden Administration than had been disbursed in over fifteen years.”

Digging into the details, one conservative reacted, “The climate crisis wasn’t a mistake. It was a business model. Trillions spent. Zero accountability. Endless NGOs, vaporware startups, and political insiders getting rich… while emissions kept rising… billions in DOE climate handouts were rushed out the door…Secretary Chris Wright just shut the scam down.”
Speculating, one conservative pondered, “Great observation! Podesta was appointed ‘head of the snake’ by the auto pen (Biden). Podesta is closely tied to Steyer who is now trying to change colors as his head is popping up in a run for California governor.”

Likewise, another conservative quipped, “I know far too many otherwise intelligent people who still passionately believe in the climate scam. They think I am the one corrupted by dogma. It is bewildering.” Agreeing, a response noted, “It certainly is one of the best business models of all time to transfer wealth from the poor to the wealthy. All in the name of global power and control.”
Upset by the apparent corruption, a conservative reacted, “Climate crisis” is the biggest mafia bust out in history. Sucked the life out of economies and industries all over the world while enriching the climate mafia.” Another noted, “They used the dotcom model of creating BS solutions to fake problems & raised money that was laundered off until the 2000 crash.”
