Radical left-wing progressives within our government, which have been labeled as the “Deep State,” are shaking in their boots as they realize that their days undermining the fundamental principles of the Constitution are numbered, thanks to a huge win for President Donald Trump handed down by the Supreme Court.
The ruling confirms that the president has the power to remove executive branch officers, agency appointees, or representatives, which is authority that many sitting presidents have desired to have, but failed to achieve, until Trump. In other words, President Trump, and any president that comes after him, will have the ability to fire members of independent agencies.
The Supreme Court ruling came out of the Trump v. Slaughter case, which was based on the firing of Rebecca Slaughter, who was appointed to serve as a Democratic member of the Federal Trade Commission by Trump back in 2018. Slaughter stated that she received an email notifying her that she had been booted from her position by the president in March 2025, while she was helping her child rehearse for a school play.
“My stomach just dropped,” Slaughter said, according to The Guardian. “I was really hoping that it would avoid us, both because I love my job, but really more because I love the agency. I just knew this was going to be a big fight and pretty unpleasant and pretty destructive to this institution that I really valued.” She then contacted Alvaro Bedoya, the other Democratic commissioner at the agency. He was fired too.
Both Bedoya and Slaughter filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration as a challenge to their firings. In July 2025, a federal judge reinstated Slaughter, but the administration promptly filed an appeal. In September, the Supreme Court allowed the president to remove her from the position as the case moved forward.
In June 2026, the highest court in the land ruled 6-3 to increase the president’s power and authority over independent federal agencies. President Trump took to Truth Social to share his thoughts about the major victory, which spells certain doom for the Deep State. “BIG WIN at the Supreme Court, in the Slaughter Case, confirming Presidential Power in our Country to remove Executive Branch Officers and Agency Appointees, or Representatives, under Article II,” Trump wrote.
“This Decision was long sought by United States Presidents, dating all the way back to the 1930s. It is such an Honor to be the sitting President who won this Historic and Unprecedented Ruling, one of the most important ever given with respect to Presidential Powers. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” the president continued.

In a second post, the president took a moment to share just how important the Slaughter case has proven to be in the fight to take down the Deep State and the profound impact it will have going forward. “To show the importance of the Slaughter Case, 90 years of precedent has been COMPLETELY AND UNEQUIVOCALLY OVERRULED, greatly increasing Presidential Power at a time when it is most needed!” Trump said.
