Posting on his Truth Social social media platform, President Donald Trump sounded off with vitriolic vengeance on Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and far-left “Squad” Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN), insisting that both of them are corrupt and need to be held accountable as part of the crackdown on fraud in Minnesota.
As background, the Somali migrant community in Minnesota is accused of engaging in nearly unimaginably vast levels of fraud targeting taxpayer-funded programs such as the “Feeding our Future” program, which was meant to provide food aid to needy children during the pandemic, but ended up being looted by Somalis to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.
Other programs were looted to similarly vast levels, with some estimates placing the total level of fraud at over $18 billion or more, meaning the amount stolen by Somalis in Minnesota alone could be greater than the entire GDP of Somalia. Further, Tim Walz and others, including the Biden Administration, are accused of covering it up because it was Somalis who were committing the crimes.
So, the scandal has naturally led to accusations of corruption levelled at Gov. Walz and others, such as Rep. Ilhan Omar. Such is what President Trump did on Truth Social on December 31, 2025. Snapping about Gov. Walz in one short and to the point post, he said, “Tim Waltz of Minnesota is a Crooked Governor!!!”
Following that up about an hour later with a post about Rep. Ilhan Omar, the president alleged that Omar is a “scammer” involved with the Somali schemes, and that the Somalis are the ones responsible for the massive levels of fraud, which makes sense given that their country is known for being a hellhole wracked by corruption.
He kicked off that post by saying that the Somalis did it and Ilhan Omar was a scammer as well, writing, “Much of the Minnesota Fraud, up to 90%, is caused by people that came into our Country, illegally, from Somalia. “Congresswoman” Omar, an ungrateful loser who only complains and never contributes, is one of the many scammers.”
Continuing, he again brought up the allegation that she married her brother, then turned to noting Somalia’s history of being involved in corruption. He wrote, “Did she really marry her brother? Lowlifes like this can only be a liability to our Country’s greatness. Send them back from where they came, Somalia, perhaps the worst, and most corrupt, country on earth. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

As background, the renewed interest in Omar’s immigration record has come in large part thanks to Border Czar Homan saying, when interviewed on Newsmax, “You know, I just got advised by fraud investor the other day on that, I asked the question, who reviewed the file? Says, No, there was immigration fraud involved. The statute of limitation became an issue in the last four years when this was first brought up, who was president, who run DOJ. So pulling the records.”
Continuing, he noted that the investigation seems certain to reach the conclusion that she committed fraud, saying, “Now, pulling the files, and we’re looking at but this fraud investigator, who I know, personally, one of the best fraud investigators in HSI Homeland Security Investigations, said, ‘There’s no doubt.’ He reviewed the file. So I’m running that down this week, matter of fact, and we’ll see.”
