President Donald Trump roasted Fox News’ token liberal host Jessica Tarlov so badly that she had to take a tropical getaway to recover. Trump has made a name for himself over the course of the last decade by refusing to take the attacks of the left-wing media without returning fire, something that conservatives say the mainstream media struggles to deal with.
Tarlov, 42, shared several photos on her social media accounts taken during a weekend trip to Lanai, Hawaii, where she attended a friend’s wedding with her husband and hedge fund executive, Brian McKenna. The break came not long after President Trump publicly humiliated the Democratic talking head while she made an appearance on Fox.
“I can’t stand Jessica Tarlov of THE FIVE,” Trump went on to say in a short Truth Social post. “A real loser!” During the segment, Tarlov admitted that there was no policy that could eliminate every act of violence in the country. “You will never be able to stop all of the lunatics,” Tarlov conceded on air. The president has taken the Fox News host to task repeatedly over her liberal commentary.
In fact, according to a report from Trending Politics News, Tarlov is one of the president’s most openly criticized Fox personalities, despite the vast majority of the network being filled with strong conservative voices in the media that supports Trump. She is also no stranger to conflict as she has gotten into a number of heated exchanges with her The Five co-host, Greg Gutfeld, including a passionate debate that resulted in a shouting match.
However, her latest excursion seems to be personal in nature and not permanent. Tarlov posted pictures from her vacation on Instagram, showing her and McKenna spending some quality time away from the chaos of cable news. One of the images featured the Fox News host in a green-and-white midi dress with a banana-leaf pattern, posing with her husband in front of a tropical backdrop.
Another photo showed the couple making silly faces for the camera, while a video shared to the account showed the couple swimming near a waterfall. “Quick getaway to the most beautiful place on earth with my favorite guy,” Tarlov captioned the post. Tarlov and McKenna have been married to each other since May 2021.
Tarlov’s absence on the network comes as Trump continues to express frustrations with certain individuals on Fox News in the public eye. While many of the network’s biggest names are fans of his administration, the president has not hesitated to attack those who challenge him or promote certain Democratic Party talking points.

President Trump has aired many grievances over Fox News polling data and commentary that he feels is unfair to him and his administration. Tarlov’s career is built on the conflict she gets into with other co-hosts of The Five, often getting into verbal sparring matches with the more conservative-minded on the panel. Playing out that role has led to a growing number of MAGA supporters and Republicans calling for her to be fired from the network.
