Posting on Truth Social, President Trump announced that he is moving foward with his plans to reopen Alcatraz prison in the San Francisco Bay area to house violent offenders, principally illegal aliens that need to be detained somewhere secure. In the post highlighting that matter, he noted both that it will be surrounded by sharks, making escape difficult, and that Biden had let so many bad actors into the country that a major stop like this is needed.
As background, President Trump originally announced his “reopen Alcatraz” idea back in early May, arguing that America has many violent offenders who need to be kept somwhere where they are unable to harm ordinary Americans, and that he would be rebuilding and reopening Alcatraz to keep them there, far from the law-abiding population.
That idea then sat on the back burner for a while, until the president announced on July 1 that he is moving forward with the idea and will be focusing on using it as a symbol of America’s intolerance of illegals present in the country. He began, “Because of the Violence and Criminality I have seen due to the Open Border Policy of Sleepy Joe Biden, in particular allowing millions of people into our Country who shouldn’t be here, I wanted something representative to show how we fight back.”
Continuing, he noted that Alcatraz would be the perfect symbol, saying, “and then, it happened, I saw a picture of ALCATRAZ looking so foreboding, and I said, ‘We’re going to look into renovating and rebuilding the famous ALCATRAZ Prison sitting high on the Bay, surrounded by sharks. What a symbol it is, and will be!’”
Concluding, he noted that the idea is taking a good bit to be fleshed out by design firms, but is coming along and will happen as he ratchets up the war against illegal immigration. He said, “Conceptual work started six months ago, and various prison development firms are looking at doing it with us. Still a little early, but lots of promise!”
In his original post on the matter, which was also written on Truth Social, President Trump said, “REBUILD, AND OPEN ALCATRAZ! For too long, America has been plagued by vicious, violent, and repeat Criminal Offenders, the dregs of society, who will never contribute anything other than Misery and Suffering.”
Continuing in that original post on the subject, he noted that there are many dangerous criminals in America who really need to be treated harshly, saying, “When we were a more serious Nation, in times past, we did not hesitate to lock up the most dangerous criminals, and keep them far away from anyone they could harm. That’s the way it’s supposed to be. No longer will we tolerate these Serial Offenders who spread filth, bloodshed, and mayhem on our streets.”

He then noted that, to deal with them, he is going to reopen a rebuild Alcatraz prison to house the worst offenders in America. He said, “That is why, today, I am directing the Bureau of Prisons, together with the Department of Justice, FBI, and Homeland Security, to reopen a substantially enlarged and rebuilt ALCATRAZ, to house America’s most ruthless and violent Offenders.”
Concluding, the president noted that America must not be any longer held in thrall to the worst sorts, saying, “We will no longer be held hostage to criminals, thugs, and Judges that are afraid to do their job and allow us to remove criminals, who came into our Country illegally. The reopening of ALCATRAZ will serve as a symbol of Law, Order, and JUSTICE. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
