Trump Celebrates Big Illegal Immigration Victory Leading to Key Affordability Win for American Families

President Donald Trump is celebrating a massive victory that comes about as the direct result of his major push to enforce immigration law and deport criminal illegals. The president is taking credit for lower car insurance rates, which he says are happening because his border policies have significantly lowered the flow of illegal aliens into the country who have caused a spike in thefts, accidents, and other costs across the country.

Trump wrote about the decrease in rates in a post published on his Truth Social account, where he not only took a moment to celebrate his big win, but to slam former President Joe Biden for causing the spike in the first place. The president opened up the post by taking a shot at Biden and his Homeland Security secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas.

“Under the disastrous Open Border Policy of Crooked Joe Biden and his traitorous DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, TENS OF MILLIONS of criminals, including over 13,000 STONE-COLD MURDERERS, poured into our Country from Prisons and Jails, from Mental Institutions and Insane Asylums,” Trump said in the post.

“Needless to say, they were NOT always the safest drivers! Car Insurance Premiums rose to RECORD HIGHS, forcing Law-abiding American Citizens to subsidize the “free riding” Biden Illegals. After over a year of ZERO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, and our highly successful efforts to REVERSE the Biden Invasion, Car Insurance Premiums have come tumbling down,” the president wrote, according to a report from Breitbart.

By the time September 2024 rolled around, insurance rates had skyrocketed as Biden’s immigration policy allowed millions of illegal aliens to get on the road, oftentimes without having any training or English lessons. Federal data shows that at the time, monthly auto insurance rates rose by 8.3% under Trump’s administration, but went up 20% under Biden.

The 20% hike became an annual $500 “tax” on Americans, causing additional strain on their already stressed bank accounts. President Trump’s post included a graphic that showed rates took off by 20.6% during the third year of Biden’s term. However, by 2025, the number fell to 0.5%. And thus far in 2026, it has dropped to -2.3%.

A study published by the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management in 2025 discovered that the rise in uninsured drivers, combined with giving illegal aliens access to state-issued drivers’ licenses has made driving on the road more hazardous. The study reveals that “undocumented immigrants driver’s licenses increase overall fatal crashes by nearly 5%, equivalent to 0.46 more fatal crashes in a county per year,” Ruinan Zhao, the study’s author, wrote.

“The effect is stronger in states with a higher population of undocumented immigrants. By investigating the mechanism through which the policy impact is likely to occur, I show that undocumented immigrants may be more likely to engage in risky driving behavior once they obtain driver’s licenses,” he added. The study provides support for the president’s assertion that fewer illegal aliens entering the United States would mean fewer driving on the roads, leading to fewer accidents, which then lowers insurance rates.
