In a duo of posts on Truth Social, President Donald Trump noted both that he is pushing Congress to finally ram through the tax legislation that will significantly help many Americans, particularly working people and seniors reliant on Social Security, and that he is refusing to work with the Canadians if the continue trying to mug American companies.
As background, the Big Beautiful Bill is heartily supported by much of MAGA because, in addition to making the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent, it ends taxation on overtime work and tips while also creating a $4,000 tax credit for seniors relying on Social Security. However, the Senate has dithered about passing it, so Trump has been pressuring them to not go on vacation until it is done.
Such is what he did in a post on Truth Social, highlighting the bill’s provisions and demanding that Congress do its job and pass the legislation. Beginning, he highlighted that the Senate is working over the weekend to get a version passed, saying, “The Great Republicans in the U.S. Senate are working all weekend to finish our ‘ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL.’”
Continuing, he highlighted the many things that the massive tax cut package will do to help Americans, saying, “We are on the precipice of delivering Massive General Tax Cuts, NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY FOR OUR SENIORS, Permanently Securing our Borders, an even Bigger and More Powerful Military (I rebuilt it during my First Term, and it is already the Best, but we will make it BETTER!), unleashing our American Economy, dominating the Energy Market, creating Jobs, and getting money back to American Families.”
Concluding, he demanded the House of Representatives get the new version passed before Independence Day, saying, “The House of Representatives must be ready to send it to my desk before July 4th — We can get it done. It will be a wonderful Celebration for our Country, which is right now, “The Hottest Country anywhere in the World” — And to think, just last year, we were a laughingstock. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Then, in another post, the president noted that foreign nations will not be allowed to take advantage of Americans any longer, as shown by his rough handling of Canada in its attempt to mug American tech companies and farmers with tariffs and a massive Digital Services Tax.
Beginning, the president said, “We have just been informed that Canada, a very difficult Country to TRADE with, including the fact that they have charged our Farmers as much as 400% Tariffs, for years, on Dairy Products, has just announced that they are putting a Digital Services Tax on our American Technology Companies, which is a direct and blatant attack on our Country.”

Then, slamming Canada and the EU for mugging Americans in such an obvious way, he wrote, “They are obviously copying the European Union, which has done the same thing, and is currently under discussion with us, also. Based on this egregious Tax, we are hereby terminating ALL discussions on Trade with Canada, effective immediately.”
Concluding, he threatened Canada with a likely substantial tariff if they don’t get their act together, saying, “We will let Canada know the Tariff that they will be paying to do business with the United States of America within the next seven-day period. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
