In yet more good news for those who want to see the villains of the Biden years held accountable, and potentially very bad news for the people he pardoned in last-minute pardons that appear to have been signed by autopen, President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice has announced that it is investigating those autopen pardons.
As background, the investigation comes in the context of a revelation from the Heritage Foundation that, with the exception of the Hunter Biden pardon, the last-minute pardons Biden gave to people like former Rep. Liz Cheney and Dr. Anthony Fauci were signed not by the president’s hand, but rather by autopen. President Trump has since declared those pardons “null and void” and indicated a desire to hold those who received the suspect pardons accountable.
Now, it appears there is an actual investigation into the matter. Such is what Fox News Digital reported it was told on Tuesday, June 3, with the DOJ reportedly revealing the Justice Department Pardon Attorney, Ed Martin, has begun reviewing former President Biden’s pardons and whether they were legitimate. In that report, Fox News Digital said:
Fox News was told Tuesday that Justice Department Pardon Attorney Ed Martin is reviewing a list of Biden-era pardons granted by the president during his final weeks in office.
It is unclear what individual pardons are being reviewed by Martin’s office, though Reuters reported this week that the office is planning to look at the preemptive pardons that Biden granted to his son, Hunter Biden, as well as more than 35 death row inmates whose sentences were changed to life in prison during Biden’s final days in office.
Mr. Martin, who in this case said that he had been “directed” to review the Biden pardons, has previously said that he thinks the situation needs to be looked into. Speaking on the matter in April, he said, “They need scrutiny because we want pardons to matter and to be accepted and to be something that’s used correctly. So I do think we’re going to take a hard look at how they went and what they did.”
President Trump, for his part, said in a mid-March post on Truth Social that he was considering the pardons “void” and “of no further force or effect” because of the autopen matter. He began, “The “Pardons” that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen.”
Continuing, the president explained that it appears that former President Biden might not have even known about the pardons, which might be what is now under investigation, writing, “In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them! The necessary Pardoning Documents were not explained to, or approved by, Biden. He knew nothing about them, and the people that did may have committed a crime.”
Concluding, he said, “Therefore, those on the Unselect Committee, who destroyed and deleted ALL evidence obtained during their two year Witch Hunt of me, and many other innocent people, should fully understand that they are subject to investigation at the highest level. The fact is, they were probably responsible for the Documents that were signed on their behalf without the knowledge or consent of the Worst President in the History of our Country, Crooked Joe Biden!”

Further, President Trump, said much the same thing during a news conference and indicated that the matter would be investigated and brought to the courts, as now appears to be happening. He said, “It’s not my decision. That would be up to a court, but I would say that they’re null and void because I’m sure Biden didn’t have any idea that it was taking place.” Watch him here:
