In the latest infuriating instance of fraud, waste, and abuse engaged in by the Biden Administration that the Trump Administration has revealed, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has revealed that the Biden HUD allowed “massive abuse” of federal programs and improperly paid out at least $5 billion.
In fact, Trump’s HUD found that the Biden staffers had paid out billions upon billions of taxpayer dollars not just to normal fraudsters, but to dead people and fraudsters with obviously fake Social Security numbers, indicating that the fraud was so obvious it should have been caught, but putting the proper safeguards in place wasn’t even attempted.
Announcing as much in a press release that included a crazy chart showing all the fraud involved, the Trump HUD announced, “Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner released HUD’s Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Agency Financial Report (AFR) to Congress, which detailed significant misuse of taxpayer funds under the Biden administration including potential payment errors totaling more than $5 billion.”
Continuing, it noted that this is, bizarrely, the first time that data analytics have been used to root out fraud, saying, “For the first time ever, HUD’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) used advanced data analytics to examine all Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) and Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) payments made in 2024.”
It then noted that a jaw-dropping number of improper payments and the like were discovered by that simple screening of the data, saying, “Through a series of internal management reviews, HUD identified significant potential improper payments, process gaps, and material weaknesses.” Check out the chart HUD included to show the fraud here:
Trump HUD Secretary Turner, commenting on the massive amount of fraud that Biden allowed, said, “A massive abuse of taxpayer dollars not only occurred under President Biden’s watch, but was effectively incentivized by his administration’s failure to implement strong financial controls resulting in billions’ worth of potential improper payments.”

Continuing, Secretary Turner said that the fraud has not just been discovered, but the responsible parties who engaged in it will be held accountable, saying, “HUD will continue investigating the shocking results and will take appropriate action to hold bad actors accountable.”
Adding to that, he vowed that HUD is working to ensure tax dollars are wisely and prudently administered, saying, “Additionally, the Department is advancing efforts made under President Trump’s first administration to strengthen program integrity and ensure taxpayer-funded assistance serves the vulnerable communities it was intended for.”
And, ensuring that the blame is foisted purely on the Biden administration, the press release said, “After identifying process gaps and weaknesses, HUD disclosed a material weakness to be transparent about the inherent risks that existed under the Biden administration and to establish accountability for fixing financial oversight moving forward.”
Then, concluding, Trump’s HUD revealed that it is continuing to crack down on fraud, saying, “HUD will continue to implement new processes to track how Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) and HUD-funded grantees spend the funds they receive, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and accountability at every level.”
