In a recent interview on MSNBC, former CIA director John Brennan launched into an absurd anti-Trump rant, Which drew widespread criticism from conservatives. In his screed, Brennan reacted to a clip of President Trump feuding with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
Trump threw Zelensky out of the Whitehouse after the embattled Ukrainian made a number of outrageous requests of the American People. Brennan says that Trump was bullying Zelensky and defended his requests for more military aid. He also launched into hysterics about Trump’s feud with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The former CIA director began his on-air tirade by summarizing the meeting. He said, “Well, I know that President Zelensky said that it was a regrettable meeting, and it certainly was regrettable, but I must say he has to be admired for standing up to Donald Trump. I think too many people around the globe, as well as certainly within this country and Republican Party, have just folded in front of Donald Trump.”
He used that in an attempt to slander President Trump’s character. He added that, “I think that just fuels his arrogance, his hubris, his, you know, threats and intimidation and extortion, because they just fold and bend. Zelensky is a very principled individual, and he’s standing up for his country. And I do think that if there are more individuals like Justin Trudeau did today, he spoke very frankly, very, very directly to Donald Trump about the concerns that the Canadian people have.”
Brennan praised the Canadian people, and again made swipes at the president. He described Canadians as those “who’ve been our neighbors and one of our closest allies over the years, and Donald Trump, who is just pursuing again, these transactional engagements, looking at it through a personal, financial, economic trade prism, and not having any of those, those traits that previous Presidents have had, that look upon the world with compassion, with empathy, with concern, with support, to defend those who are being oppressed and who are downtrodden.”
The TDS-affected official ranted about how America needs to act as the world’s police force. He said, “The United States [has] great resources and capabilities in order to ensure that the world, overall, is going to benefit, not just the United States. So again, I would see this almost as an existential moment for US foreign policy and domestic policy as well. Donald Trump is decimating the executive branch of the federal government.”
Mr. Brennan also appeared quite concerned that President Trump is a serious threat to the Deep State. Wringing his hands over that, he said, “He is decimating all of those capabilities that have kept again, this country strong and prosperous internally. And like Eugene said, I don’t think we understand yet the full damage of this, because it’s just six weeks, the reverberations are going to last for quite a while. It can get worse, and if he’s not challenged, if he’s not pushed back, I think we’re going to see a real serious deterioration, not only of our role internationally, but also our health and prosperity domestically.”

On social media, conservatives condemned his theatrical rant. One user posted, “John Brennan is panicking so hard that he is going on TV and advising world leaders to stand up to Trump and stop “folding and bending.” He commends Zelensky & Justin Trudeau for their aggressive stances with Trump. This is treasonous behavior. Let that sink in. He is telling foreign countries to go against the President of the United States. Where does his loyalty lie?”
