In response to a significant change in policy, seventeen transgender Air Force members were discharged under Trump’s ban after 15–18 years of service, and are suing the federal government for revoking previously approved early retirement benefits, costing up to $2 million in lifetime pensions and health insurance.
For context, the Air Force reversed its initial policy, allowing early retirement and denying board appeals to continue serving. Plaintiffs, including Master Sgt. Logan Ireland labeled the move cruel and a betrayal of military values.
A far-left legal activism group, GLAD, is coordinating the suit, and attorney Michael Haley condemned the “general cruelty” in targeting transgender troops. The lawsuit challenges ongoing efforts to eliminate DEI in the military.
Beginning his comments, Haley, a GLAD Law staff attorney, lamented “the general cruelty in attacking transgender people.” Adding, “These are folks who are going to move on with their lives, have received the OK to do so, and then have that taken away from them once again.”Building out his remarks, the woke lawyer kept whining. “This is a senseless and shocking affront to troops who have sacrificed so much for our country,” the biased activist said in an official statement.
Bringing his comments to a close, he stated, “Each of these families faces a potential loss of up to $1–2 million over the course of their lifetimes. These brave transgender servicemembers deserve the retirement benefits they have earned and that the Air Force granted them. As a country, we must honor our word to them, not rip away their benefits.”
Echoing these comments, Logan Ireland, a USAF master sergeant and the plaintiff in this suit, said, “The military taught me to lead and fight, not retreat,” noting, “Stripping away my retirement sends the message that those values only apply on the battlefield, not when a service member needs them most.”
Still not done with the series of self-congratulatory comments, the trans activist described their service in dramatic tones, saying, “I raised my hand and served my country honorably for 15 years, including a deployment to Afghanistan.”

Concluding the statement, the plaintiff resorted to theatrics: “Ripping away the retirements we have earned is a betrayal of the sacrifices made by servicemembers and our families. We should not be thrown into economic hardship or made to feel our years of service are regarded by our country as meaningless.”
Similarly, Shannon Minter, the NCLR Legal Director, used the incident as an excuse to attack President Trump cynically. “Tomorrow is Veterans Day, yet the Trump administration continues to deepen its betrayal of veterans by ripping away the pensions and health care benefits of honorable Airmen who have deployed around the world,” she whined.
Finally bringing her unhinged and aggressive comments to a close, the biased activist claimed, “There has never been an administration that has shown such open hostility to the brave men and women who have served our country.”
