TPUSA Launches Rival Halftime Show Headlined by Kid Rock to Counter NFL’s “Bad Bunny” Disaster

Conservative youth outreach organization, Turning Point USA, originally founded by activist Charlie Kirk who was assassinated last September, has created an alternative to the Super Bowl halftime show, revealing a super-patriotic concert that they say will celebrate faith, family, and freedom. The reason for the halftime show alternative is due to the NFL program featuring anti-Trump, anti-ICE performer Bad Bunny.

TPUSA is calling the event “The All-American Halftime Show.” The program will air at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Feb. 8, 2026. The lineup for the concert includes big-name artists like Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett. “We’re approaching this show like David and Goliath,” Kid Rock went on to say in a statement about the show. “Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible…or is it?”

Later in his statement, Rock commented on Bad Bunny and his planned performance saying, “He’s said he’s having a dance party, wearing a dress, and singing in Spanish? Cool. We plan to play great songs for folks who love America.” Andrew Kolvet, a spokesman for TPUSA, spoke with Fox News about the upcoming event, saying the organization wanted to provide families with another viewing option.

According to Fox, the group explained that they are going for a completely different feel than the Super Bowl halftime show, going for an immersive, high-energy experience that “lets the viewer up close and personal,” rather than the distant, detached atmosphere of a stadium show. “‘The All-American Halftime Show’ is an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show with no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom,” Kolvet added.

“We can’t wait to watch the incredible show they’re about to put on. We know millions around the country will be watching too,” he told the outlet. The Super Bowl is scheduled for Feb. 8, 2026 and features the New England Patriots taking on the Seattle Seahawks. The announcement of Bad Bunny as the main performer of the halftime show drew criticism from many around the country, including President Donald Trump.

“I don’t know who he is,” Trump said in an interview with Newsmax last fall. “I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s crazy. And then they blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.” In 2025, Bad Bunny revealed that he avoided scheduling U.S. tour dates due to his concern that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents might show up and detain Latino fans.

“But there was the issue of — like, f—ing ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about,” the pop star told i-D Magazine in an interview from September. President Trump stated that he would be skipping the game, slamming the halftime performers and citing the location of the game in California as being too far away.

Another anti-ICE act, Green Day, is also scheduled to take the stage at the Super Bowl. The punk band’s singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong has not been shy about voicing his disdain for Trump in the past. Those interested in watching the Turning Point USA halftime show will be able to stream it on the group’s YouTube page, X account, and Rumble platform.
