The Democrats are reeling after more bad news about the upcoming 2026 midterms. Politico reported that several prominent retirements in Democratic-leaning states have created a significant vulnerability that Republicans are eager to exploit, with new Democrats being less likely to win than their incumbent counterparts.
For context, Democrats across the nation have been forced to reassess their priorities after the devastating victory of President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Many state-level parties have chosen to move away from older and less committed leadership. In many cases, these moderate democrats have been replaced with woke ideologues who seek to further emphasize the party’s commitment to far-left insanity.
Such was shown when Sen. John Boozman (R-AR) explained the situation facing Democrats. He stated, “It’s hard to beat an incumbent. Statistically, it’s very, very difficult. So it gives Republicans an opportunity,” explaining how these retirements open up opportunities for the GOP.
As we reported, longtime New Hampshire Democrat Sen. Jeanne Shaheen has announced that she will not seek another term in her seat, potentially shifting the critical swing state towards the Republicans. In fact, Jim Demers, a veteran New Hampshire Democratic strategist, said, “We’re going to need every dollar that can be raised to retain the seat — and an expensive primary I feel would not be helpful.”
In her initial announcement, Senator Shaheen offered weak excuses for her decision to retire in face of a mounting red wave in the Senate. She said, “I ran for public office to make a difference for the people of New Hampshire. That purpose has never and will never change. But today, after careful consideration, I’m announcing that I have made the difficult decision not to seek reelection to the Senate in 2026.”
After she made her excuses, the Shaheen confirmed she will continue working as a woke activist. She said, “And while I’m not seeking reelection, believe me, I am not retiring. I am determined to work every day over the next two years and beyond to continue to try and make a difference for the people of New Hampshire in this country. I hope you’ll join me in that effort.”
She concluded her retirement by theatrically congratulating herself on her career in public service. She stated, ” From the bottom of my heart. Thank you, New Hampshire. Listening to your stories, being your champion, and working with you on the tough fights has been the honor of a lifetime, and we’ll keep at it.”

Blaming Chuck Schumer for the disastrous situation, an unamed inside source said the longtime Democrat “still lives in the 20th Century media environment with his little flip phone. It’s time to really step up and do some different things.”
In fact the same source indicated that Democrats see the senate as lost, saying, “My folks are all in on governors, all in on state legislative candidates. That’s the only place where we can actually push back and where the power is. They are just not seeing leadership at the federal level.”
