Woke activist Karen Attiah, a former Washington Post opinion editor, had been fired for her inappropriate remarks on slain conservative Charlie Kirk’s alleged “racial double standards” on gun violence, which she made in an essay. Attiah contested the Post’s claims of “gross misconduct,” announcing her dismissal on X with a bizarre staged photograph..
For context, after Kirk was killed, many liberals celebrated the grisly murder. Reacting to this unacceptable push for violence, many companies and government agencies have chosen to fire workers who engage in this horrible behavior, prompting massive online meltdowns. In this case, obnoxious left-wing hack Don Lemon criticized the right’s “hypocrisy” on free speech, arguing that canceling critics like Attiah contradicts Kirk’s free speech advocacy
In any case, Karen Attiah took to social media to announce the consequences of the vile screed. She stated on September 15, 2025, “Some news: I’ve been fired from the Washington Post. But my work will continue anyway.”
In her initial post, she criticized “white America” for inaction, stating they “are not going to do what it needs to do to get rid of guns in their country.” Defending herself in a following post, she said, “I was fired for ‘speaking out against political violence, racial double standards, and America’s apathy toward guns.'”
Still not done preaching woke ideology, she added, “I was the last remaining Black full-time opinion columnist at the Post, in one of the nation’s most diverse regions. What happened to me is part of a broader purge of Black voices from academia, business, government, and media — a historical pattern as dangerous as it is shameful — and tragic.”
In another vile screed post to social media, she alleged, “Refusing to tear my clothes and smear ashes on my face in performative mourning for a white man that espoused violence is….not the same as violence.”
Adding to her cartoonishly racist rant, the now-fired journalist said, “Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence.”

However, her former employer, The Washington Post, disagreed. In the official termination letter sent to Attiah, the paper said, “Your postings on Bluesky (which clearly identifies you as a Post Columnist) about white men in response to the killing of Charlie Kirk do not comply with our policy, [which] prohibits postings that disparage people based on their race, gender, or other protected characteristics.”
Reacting to her firing, infamous woke ideologue Don Lemon whined, “The hypocrisy on the right about free speech is, I mean, it’s just off the charts. Think about it: If you actually believe in what Charlie Kirk said he believed in… then why are you out to cancel people who are using their First Amendment right of free speech to tell you how they feel about Charlie Kirk by using his own words?”
Reacting to the situation, the Washington Post Guild, which seems to be a union for workers at the media outlet, said, “The Washington Post wrongly fired Opinions columnist Karen Attiah over her social media posts. The Post not only flagrantly disregarded standard disciplinary processes, it also undermined its own mandate to be a champion of free speech.”
