In a shocking development over the weekend, Elon Musk re-platformed former president Donald Trump to his newly-privatized Twitter and it immediately sent childish leftists into a tizzy. Musk lifted Trump’s ban after conducting a poll which saw over 15 million votes cast and 52% of respondents saying he should return.
Reinstate former President Trump

Musk noted that while an impressive 15 million votes were cast, more than 134 million users saw it. The takeaways, if there are any, could most people simply don’t have strong opinions about the former president as well as reinforcing the idea that most people might simply not have strong opinions about anything. Presidential elections rarely achieve more than 67% participation. Most people just let things happen.
But not everyone lets things just happen, especially leftists who have gotten used to their monopolistic narrative-churning operations and setting the agenda for the rest of us. Musk’s takeover of Twitter has melted heads not because they fear the death of democracy, but rather because they fear the death of gaslighting everyone and losing power over the ability to control minds.
CBS in particular has gone off the deep end. In response to both Trump’s ban being lifted and Musk doing Musk things over the past few weeks, the media giant announced it would be suspending further usage on the social media platform out of an “abundance of caution.”
“In light of the uncertainty around Twitter and out of an abundance of caution, an on-air reporter said, “CBS News is pausing its activity on the social media site as it continues to monitor the platform.”

CBS hasn’t had an issue reporting on weapons of mass destruction, keeping our healthcare, Russian collusion, and many more recent events that have transpired since 2020, but they apparently draw the line at the return of a now-private citizen whose final few tweets said this on January 6th:
“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”
“Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!”
CBS was far from alone in reacting with hyperbolic insanity. Derrick Johnson of the NAACP issued this bizarre statement:
You are failing our democracy.
Your garbage poll means nothing. Did people outside the US vote? Did you reach out to marginalized communities—the targets of Trump’s rhetoric—for their input? Your followers don’t represent America.
If you run Twitter like this, God help us all. https://t.co/v8DsB9vtza

And the always-wrong Jonathan Greenblatt of the Anti-Defamation League chimed in with this lunacy:
.@elonmusk's decisions over the last month have been erratic and alarming, but this decision is dangerous and a threat to American democracy. We need to ask — is it time for Twitter to go?

It has to be repeated that when Twitter and other social media platforms banned Trump, he was the sitting president of the United States. This was wholly unprecedented and dangerous to any functioning democratic society. The same could later be said of the DOJ and FBI’s joint raid of his private residence.
They hate that they are losing control of the narrative – and losing control period.
Trump has often said he would not return to Twitter regardless of what happened to his account. It remains to be seen how he will respond. As of yet, his account has not posted anything.
