American college football legend and prominent Christian Tim Tebow and his Tim Tebow Foundation just teamed up with a non-profit called The Sentinel Foundation to rescue nearly five dozen disabled children from Haiti. Their rescue comes as Haiti continues to suffer from massive levels of violence and crime, with heavily armed gangs ruling much of the country.
Mr. Tebow announced the successful operation in a post on X (formerly Twitter), including a picture of him carrying a young child and thanking all of those people and organizations who came together to help rescue the disabled children. Those organizations included, in addition to the Tim Tebow Foundation, The Sentinel Foundation, Mission of Hope, HaitiOne, and the Anti-Trafficking Bureau from the Dominican Republic.
“On this day I’m so grateful. I’m grateful for the amazing frontline heroes that have all come together to care for 59 incredible image-bearers from Haiti who have severe disabilities but are incredible fighters. They have been relocated out of danger and into freedom! Thank you to everyone involved – so many to thank as there really is power when we come together,” Tebow began.
Continuing, he first thanked the Jamaican government for welcoming in the rescued children, saying, “A special thank you to the Jamaican government…You didn’t have to welcome these children, but you chose to see their value and worth and make a place for them. And thank you to Mustard Seed Communities for your heart for these precious children!“
He then helped those brave individuals in Haiti who helped out with rescuing the disabled children, namely the leadership of Haiti’s Child Services department, writing, “We are thankful for the courageous leadership of Madame Villedrouin from Child Services in Haiti, and numerous brave men and women in Haiti who aided in this mission.”
He next thanked the many American departments and non-profits involved in helping out, saying, “Thank you to The Sentinel Foundation, Adam LaRoche with E3 Ranch Foundation, the Anti-Trafficking Bureau from the DR, Kevin Guthrie with the FL Division of Emergency Management, Cory Mills, myLIFEspeaks, Mission of Hope, HaitiOne, the caregivers from HaitiChildren, our team of volunteers, and the doctors and nurses.”
Concluding, Tebow asked everyone to help him in praying for the children who were rescued, namely that they be safe, hopeful, and healed. He wrote, “Lastly, please join me in prayer for these precious image-bearers and that they are able to experience safety, hope, and healing! So grateful. Only God!”
According to Fox News Digital, which reported on the rescue operation, Tebow and his non-profit reached out to The Sentinel Foundation, composed of veterans, when he found out about the crisis in Haiti, asking it to support efforts to get kids out of Haiti. The Sentinel Foundation’s veterans did help out, Fox News reports, approaching the troubled land by land, sea, and air, then using the ferry to get the children out of Haiti.
Tebow is an outspoken advocate of exploited children and the groups that try to save them. Appearing before Congress recently, for example, he said, “I’m here today to ask you to say yes to a bill we’ll present. The bill has one goal: to build a rescue team.” He added, “There are so many frontline warriors and heroes, but there just aren’t enough and we need to support them. We need more of them to get to these 50,000 boys and girls.” He continued, “The bill’s intent is to build a team that has the funding, the support, the training, and the technology so they can get to these 50,000 children.”
