“Those Days Are Over”: Trump Ends Military “Drag Shows,” “Absurd Ideological Experiments” in Fiery West Point Speech

Speaking with rousing fury during his speech to graduating cadets at West Point on Saturday, May 24, President Donald Trump declared that a new “golden age” is upon the American military with him in charge, as he is bringing an end to the “drag shows” and “absurd ideological experiments” to which the military was subjected under the Biden Administration.

Though his speech was quite wide-ranging, President Trump focused in particular on the increasingly politicized nature of the military, noting that past presidents have dragged it through the mud by forcing it into nonsensical, politicla missions that cost credibility, money, and lives.

Beginning, he explained how terrible leaders have tarnished the once-sterling reputation of the American military, saying, “For at least two decades, political leaders from both parties have dragged our military into missions it was never — meant to be. People would say, why are we doing this? Why are we wasting our time, money, and souls in some case?”

Continuing, he noted that past presidents have foisted both absurd attempts at “nation-building crusades” on our troops, a clear dig at George W. Bush, and have pushed them into “absurd ideological experiments” and situations, something for which the Biden Administration was particularly reviled.

Focusing on that and noting how past conflicts have drained our will, depressed our soldiers, and emptied our arsenals, the president said, “They subjected the Armed Forces to all manner of social projects and political causes while leaving our borders undefended and depleting our arsenals to fight other countries’ wars.”

Adding to that, the president pointed out the absurdity of fighting wars for the borders of other nations while leaving our own undefended. He said, “We fought for other countries borders, but we didn’t fight for our own border. But now we do. Like we have never fought before, by the way.”

He then vowed that all of that is over and under his administration the military will get bakc on track, saying, “But under the Trump administration, those days are over. We’re getting rid of the distractions, and we’re focusing our military on its core mission, crushing America’s adversaries, killing America’s enemies, and defending our great American flag like it has never been defended before.”

And, speaking as to the ridiculous missions foisted on the military in the past and how that will not be happening again, he said, “The job of the U.S. Armed Forces is not to host drag shows, to transform foreign cultures, or to spread democracy to everybody around the world at the point of a gun. The military’s job is to dominate any foe and annihilate any threat to America anywhere, anytime, in any place.”

Concluding, he said that the military must become respected again, and that he is focusing on making that happen, sayin,g “A big part of that job is to be respected again, and you are, as of right now, respected more than any army anywhere in the world, and that’s happening. And I can tell you, you are respected like nobody can believe.”
