It is time to make America great again. That was the promise of Donald Trump in his primetime speech Tuesday evening from his Mar-a-Lago estate as he finally and formally announced he would be running for president in 2024. And we are all here for it.
Addressing a private crowd in the banquet room, Trump made his mission clear:
“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for President of the United States.”
This is the news we have long been waiting for, ever since Joe Biden took the presidential oath of office back in January of 2021. We always knew things could be better. We always knew there would be a light at the end of the tunnel. And here we are. Trump is back.
As he continued speaking, Trump reminded so many of us why he’s so immensely popular. In just two simple sentences, the former and now aspiring president made his mission clear, saying:
“This will not be my campaign. This will be our campaign altogether.”
Does anyone believe Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are in the White House because they care about people? Because they are concerned about the dying middle class? As Trump said later in the speech, he didn’t need any of this. He is beyond wealthy, was already famous, and had a great thing going in his private life.
But he loves America and was willing to sacrifice those things for the greater good.
Trump continued:
“Together we will be taking on the most corrupt forces and entrenched interests imaginable. Our country is in a horrible state,” he said. “We’re in grave trouble. This is not a task for a politician or a conventional candidate is a task for a great movement that embodies the courage confidence and the spirit of the American. This is a movement this is not for any one individual. This is a job for 10s of millions of proud people working together from all across the land and from all walks of life young and old, black and white, Hispanic and Asian, many of whom were brought together for the very, very first time.”
The former president also highlighted that he is the great unifying force in American politics, unlike his lying rivals who run on a platform of unity while simultaneously pitting whites against blacks or the vaccinated against the unvaccinated.
“Because the only force strong enough to defeat the massive corruption we are up against is you, the American people. It’s true. The American people, the greatest people on Earth, we love them all. And we love both sides. We’re going to bring people together.”
Then he spoke about his reasons for entering the arena for final time, based on his love of country and the possibilities he sees for it:
“I am running because I believe the world has not yet seen the true glory of what this nation can be. We have not reached that pinnacle. Believe it or not. Fact, we can go very far. We’re going to have to go far. First we have to get out of this ditch. And once we’re out you’ll see things that nobody imagined for any country.”
Trump also went after the radical left, appropriately naming their role in actively destroying the country through their lack effort of looking out for foreign threats as well as fomenting threats from within:
“We will defeat the radical left Democrats that are trying to destroy your country from within and likewise protect us all we want to protect us. We have to be protected from all of those nations out there that are looking to destroy us from beyond our shores.”
