“They Need to Change Her Out”: Internet Demands Jessica Tarlov’s Firing Over Election Claim

Fox News commentator Jessica Tarlov has been the subject of intense criticism from conservatives lately after she made a false claim about the results of the presidential election, which President-elect Donald Trump won by a landslide.  Despite Trump having a healthy lead in the raw vote total and meeting the 50% threshold, according to the Associated Press, Tarlov claimed that the incoming president did not take the popular vote.

During a recent segment of “The Five,” Tarlov challenged the assertion that voters gave Trump a mandate, claiming he did not win the popular vote.  “One thing though, that I…I’m not saying that there isn’t a lot of work to do, because there absolutely is, for people who are talking about this, is if we got completely decimated, the numbers don’t bear that out,” she said during a recent segment of “The Five.”

Claiming Trump had not secured the popular vote, Tarlov added, “So Trump didn’t cross fifty percent of the popular vote, so the majority of Americans didn’t vote for him, and Senate democrats performed really well. so people like Ruben, Diego. Tammy Baldwin, Jackie Rosen and Nevada they ran seven eight points ahead of Kamala Harris, which is what was predicted, and that does show that this norm coalition can’t exist, it was that Trump had a special sauce. At the top of the ticket for a lot of people.”

As of writing this article, the Associated Press reported President-elect Donald Trump right at 50.0 percent of the overall vote tally, with 76,917,038 votes.  In contrast, Vice President Kamala Harris only won 48 percent of the vote with 74,441,439 votes.

The popular right-wing news outlet, Conservative Liberty, posed the question on X, “Jessica Tarlov says “Trump never reached 50% of the popular vote, meaning the majority of Americans did not vote for him.” What’s your message to her?” The post garnered quite a reaction from conservatives, many of whom suggested that Tarlov should be fired from the network.

User PeterQUSA explained that he has “tolerated” Tarlov’s commentary over the years.  He added, “She lies, tries to validate the foolish positions of the elitist dems. They need to change her out EXCEPT she does show the world the twisted minds of liberals.”  Another person wrote,”Please someone get a replacement for her on Fox.” Another user similarly said, “Get rid of her please.”

However, another person pointed out where Tarlov might be sourcing her claim from, writing on X, “CNN’s election map is showing him down to 49.9. That’s probably where she’s getting it. Yet another problem with states still counting. This way they get eek Rugburn up and over President Trump and take the mandate away.”

Making a similar point, another user added that while Trump has still held on to the popular vote, the blue states which are still counting ballots weeks after the election have whittled away at Trump’s lead, counting more ballots for Harris.  “They are still counting ballots in swing states and in California. Miraculously all the votes are going to Democrats and Kamala. This is cutting into his popular vote margin, but it’s not even close,” they wrote.
