Speaking to podcast host Joe Rogan during a late-February appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast with the eponymous podcast host, Joe Rogan, Elon Musk warned that he has faced serious death threats from the left, and that the political radicals who are so opposed to his Department of Government Efficiency and political alliance with Trump want to do horrible things to him.
Commenting on that aspect of the situation, Elon told Rogan that there are entire online forums on the very left-leaning Reddit website dedicated to discussing his death. He said, “They actually want to kill me. They say so online. There’s Reddit forums where they don’t just want to kill me, they want to desecrate my corpse.”
Rogan, shocked, asked him, “Why?” Elon explained that much of the cause seems to be the media’s continued framing of him as a far-right radical, a National Socialist, and thus that the crazies filling the Reddit forums think that they need to do the same thing to him that they would do to Adolf Hitler if they could.
Elon said, making that point about why they want to assassinate him despite him merely cutting waste and fraud from the federal budget, “I think it’s just an antibody response. ‘He’s a nazi!’ type of thing. I’m not a nazi, but if the legacy media is saying I’m a nazi, and that’s all you read, then you believe I’m Hitler and we should assassinate Hitler, shouldn’t we?”
For reference, the media has indeed framed Elon Musk as a Nazi. For example, MSNBC said, at one point, “But that jamboree happening right now, you see it there on your screen in that place is particularly chilling because in 1939, more than 20,000 supporters of a different fascist leader, Adolf H*tler, packed the Garden for a so-called pro-America rally.”
Even Democrat politicians have done the same. For example, outright claiming Musk was a Nazi, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) argued, “Elon Musk is a Nazi nepo baby, a godless lawless billionaire, who no one elected.” She added, “Elon, this is the American people. This is not your trashy Cybertruck that you can just dismantle, pick apart, and sell the pieces of.” Suggesting protests against Musk and Trump will spill onto the “streets,” she asserted, “We will see you in the court, in Congress, in the streets.”

Elon claimed at another point in the same Rogan interview that he has to be careful about how he fights corruption, as he worries he could be assassinated. He said, “It’s more than just insider trading. The insider trading stuff, like the stock portfolio stuff, is quite trackable, but there’s… it’s a-lot more than insider trading.”
He further added, “I mean, this is really going to get me assassinated. I’m not lengthening my lifespan by explaining this stuff, to say the least. I mean, I was supposed to go back to DC how am I gonna survive?” He added “In fact I do think like there’s… it’s like I actually have to be careful that I don’t push too hard on the corruption stuff.” Elon further noted, “because it’s like, I was actually thinking about that on the plane flight over here. It’s like, if I push too hard on the corruption stuff, people get desperate is the issue.”
