“There will likely be more arrests coming”: DHS Spox Says Democrat Reps to Be Arrested after Being Caught on Camera Assaulting Federal Agents, Bodyslamming a Female ICE Officer [WATCH]

The Trump Department of Homeland Security (DHS) isn’t playing games with the leftists who are trying to torpedo it anymore, as shown by its response to catching a Democrat mayor and members of Congress storming an ICE facility in New Jersey and physically assaulting the federal agents who were defending the facility.

In fact, not only were those responsible for the horrific incident arrested at the time it occurred, but now DHS is saying that they will likely face further charges over the crimes that they were caught on tape committing during their storming of the facility, not least of which is the physical assault of federal agents.

Such is what Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at DHS, said when she appeared on CNN on Saturday, May 10, to discuss the Friday, May 9, attack. She said that the crimes that Mayor Ras Baraka of Newark and numerous Democratic members of Congress engaged in were egregious, and that more charges would likely be forthcoming.

Explaining as much, McLaughlin told CNN that DHS had body camera footage showing federal agents being physically attacked, saying, “There will likely be more arrests coming. We have bodycam footage of some of these members of Congress assaulting our ICE enforcement officers, including bodyslamming a female ICE officer. We will be showing that to viewers very shortly.”

That statement referenced since-released footage that shows, amongst other attackers, Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) screaming at and physically attacking federal agents at the facility while screaming, amongst other profanities and threats, “I touch whoever I want motherf*cker!”

CNN’s Victor Blackwell, host of the program “First of All,” on which McLaughlin was appearing, then asked her if more arrests would be happening since DHS has, as she claimed, footage showing the members of Congress attacking federal agents. He asked, “If you have that video, are you suggesting members of Congress will be arrested?”

Not holding back, McLaughlin told Blackwell that making arrests of the far-left members of Congress who allegedly assaulted agents and committed other crimes at the Newark ICE facility is likely going to happen. She said, “That is definitely on the table.”

As could be expected, even after being caught on camera attacking federal agents, Rep. Bonnie Coleman insisted the incident was merely a peaceful visit, saying, in a statement alongside other Democrats involved in the attack, “At around 1pm today, my colleagues Rep. Lamonica McIver and Rep. Rob Menendez, Jr. and I arrived at the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark to exercise our oversight authority as Members of Congress.”

She added, “Contrary to a press statement put out by DHS we did not “storm” the detention center. The author of that press release was so unfamiliar with the facts on the ground that they didn’t even correctly count the number of Representatives present. We were exercising our legal oversight function as we have done at the Elizabeth Detention Center without incident.”
