As the 2024 election draws closer, the phenomenon conservatives have labeled as Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is in full effect. As Wikipedia defines it, TDS is “criticism or negative reactions to former United States president Donald Trump that are perceived to be irrational and to have little regard towards Trump’s actual policy positions or actions undertaken by his administration.”
Among the hoard of leftist celebrities who are often the culprits of such emphatic criticism against Donald Trump is ABC’s “The View,” where its panelists of mostly left-leaning co-hosts incessantly sound off on the GOP frontrunner.
Panelist Joy Behar recently told the show’s co-hosts that if Trump is reelected in November, “we will not have a country.” The discussion centered largely on the apparent political dysfunction currently observed in America.
Navarro continued expounding upon her skepticism toward the nation’s highest court, stating, “I don’t know if he does or not but he has a duty to the American people as chief justice to make sure that this Supreme Court is at a certain level of decorum and you have Ginni Thomas and Clarence Thomas accepting all sorts of gifts from billionaires and hearing some of the cases and you’ve got this I mean it is an embarrassment.”
Behar weighed in on the issue, blasting lifetime appointments of Supreme Court Justices and suggesting the Electoral College is “Un-American.” She said, “This lifetime assignments has to stop. And they need to fix the Electoral College it is Un-American.” Behar continued, “People have to understand what is going on. You will not have a country if Trump gets in. I am convinced of it.”
The American Tribune recently reported on another segment on “The View,” which featured anti-Trump actor Robert DeNiro, who delivered an expletive-filled rant so profane that his mic had to be cut. De Niro asserted that if Trump is elected president, he would rule in a dictatorial manner similar to 20th-century fascists such as Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.
The actor stated during the segment, “I don’t understand why people are not taking him seriously because you read about it historically in other countries that they didn’t take the people seriously. I think of Hitler and Mussolini.”
The actor continued, “If he gets elected, it’s going to change this country for everybody. And they might think that it’s going to make their life better and they just want to —” When he concluded his cursing he could be heard saying “excuse my French.”
He went on to criticize Trump as being a “hateful” and “mean-spirited” leader. De Niro said, “Those people who support him with anger and hate because that’s what he’s about. They’re going to see. I mean, I used to see these things. I didn’t understand how he and Rosie O’Donnell used to get into it. I didn’t really care. I see what a hateful, mean-spirited, awful thing he is.” Watch Joy Behar’s claims about Trump, the Supreme Court, and the electoral college below:
