Justice Department officials located in both Miami, Florida and Washington, D.C. were reported to gearing up to issue several grand jury subpoenas in connection with a probe into former CIA Director John Brennan, and those subpoenas were then issued on the night of Friday, November 7. Jason Reding Quinones, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, is heading up the investigation into Brennan.
News of a probe into Brennan and disgraced former FBI Director James Comey first broke in the early days of July. The latest developments shows that investigation is now intensifying. Comey has opted to fight the case brought against him with a trial set for January 2026.
Then, in October, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), referred the former CIA head to the DOJ, alleging that he “willfully and intentionally” made false statements while testifying before Congress. Jordan said Brennan told more than a few whoppers during his testimony in 2023 before the House Judiciary Committee, specifically when he denied the CIA utilized the now infamous Steele dossier to prepare the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) concerning alleged Russian election interference. The Ohio Republican also said that Brennan falsely claimed the CIA opposed the inclusion of the dossier.
Now the subpoenas have been issued and the Deep State is in freakout mode. As X poster Eric Daugherty put it, “Panic is ensuing after a grand jury subpoenas JOHN BRENNAN and dirty FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, following their conspiracy against President Trump They are in HUGE trouble! Up to 30 SUBPOENAS being issued in the coming days.”
Fox News Channel’s Brett Baier, giving a few more details as the news broke, announced,” Tonight, just in the past few minutes, Fox News Digital is now reporting a federal grand jury has subpoenaed former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, as well as others.”
Continuing, he explained that the trio are being investigated for the Russia Hoax and, as such, have been hit with those grand jury subpoenas, saying, “It is part of the Justice Department’s investigation into the origins of the Trump Russia probe. Sources say the trio were served with federal subpoenas today.”
Concluding, Baier noted that while this was a big move, it is about to expand dramatically, and “Law enforcement sources also say up to 30 subpoenas will be issued in the coming days related to this investigation. We’ll follow that tonight. Two New Jersey teenagers are facing charges in.”

The new inquiry comes two years after former Attorney General Bill Barr wrapped up his own investigation into Brennan, concluding that the former CIA director had not participated in any wrongdoing concerning the investigation into Russian election interference. Barr was initially appointed as the special counsel during the later part of 2020 during President Donald Trump’s first term in office.
According to MSNBC, several new topics of interest have emerged in the latest probe into Brennan, including a deeper dive into the preparation of the 2017 intelligence assessment of potential Russian interference. The report then goes on to note that former special counsel John Durham also found no wrongdoing committed in the preparation of the investigation, clearly indicating a left-wing slant to paint President Trump as being on a witch hunt against political rivals.
Mike Davis, a conservative lawyer who provides advice for both the White House and Justice Department, has stated in the last several weeks that a grand jury based out of Florida will weigh the evidence presented and determine whether top officials in both the Obama and Biden administrations participated in a conspiracy to violate the civil rights of Donald Trump through their investigation into alleged Russian interference and subsequent probes launched by special counsel Jack Smith.
Smith brought two separate cases against the president as the result of his investigation. However, both of them were tossed out when he became president. Neither of those cases managed to produce any evidence of actual wrongdoing by Trump. On the other hand, President Trump and many of his allies, have stated for years the FBI and the Justice Department as a whole worked arm-in-arm with Democrats to set him up.
Brennan currently serves as a contributor with MSNBC and has, up to this point, denied participating in any wrongdoing during the preparation of the 2017 investigation. Trump’s 2024 campaign promised that those who had weaponized the justice system against him and conservatives across the country would be held accountable, a pledge he is now making good on.
