Bubba Wallace, known for his 2020 noose claims that brought the FBI to NASCAR and led to woke changes to the sport’s rules, along with getting in a shoving match after intentionally wrecking another driver’s car, is back at it. This time he and Arick Almirola got into a fight after Wallace allegedly gave Almirola the middle finder on the track and then insulted him after the race.
Wallace was later asked about the incident, with the interviewer saying, “He said that you were cussing at him and that’s why he shoved you.”
Wallace, in response, said, “Just passionate, man.” Continuing, he said “You know, we’re racing hard for a second stage and we finished fourth.”
Wallace was then asked, “What sparked the conversation?” He said, in response, “Ah, I don’t know. We were trying to finish fourth and we did it. So yeah, because we guess we didn’t.” He then added, “that’s uh, when you when you walk around with two faces that’s what you get now.”
It’s not surprising to see controversy and fighting surrounding Bubba Wallace. Last October, we reported on a fight that Wallace seemed to instigate with fellow driver Kyle Larson. Goose wrote:
Kyle Larson, driver of the number 5 car, made an aggressive move to pass Wallace, whose car was forced to scrape the wall. From that point forward, Wallace sought out the number 5 car and ended Kyle Larson’s race, by spinning him into the grass. That wreck ended the race of three drivers, totaling the cars of Larson, Wallace, and Christopher Bell, a third driver who saw his championship hopes decimated by the collision.
Wallace wasn’t finished there. After wrecking Larson and Bell, Wallace exited his vehicle that was still on the infield of the track, and hurried toward Larson, who looked to be a bit dazed after the hit he just took in his vehicle. Wallace then begins angrily shoving the chest of Larson, who did not want to be a part of any physical. As Larson tried to move away, Wallace continued forward yelling and shoving the much smaller driver.
Additionally, Wallace is no stranger to making vulgar gestures. He recently gave the middle finger to the camera when being booed after a race, as we reported on The American Tribune, saying:
A recent video shows NASCAR’s Bubba Wallace losing his cool and flipping off the camera after a second-place finish at the North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina.
Wallace has been described as portraying a “villain” or “bad boy” character in the world of NASCAR for actions such as this. Reportedly, fans loudly booed Wallace during a Saturday truck race where he took fifth place.
Reporter Noah Lewis tweeted, “The boos for @BubbaWallace after today’s truck race & during driver intros were very loud at North Wilkesboro Speedway. A @wsoctv reporter asked a great question about how/if that affects Bubba. Wallace gave a great answer in return. #NASCAR.”
The reporter asked Wallace about the boos from the crowd, where he said, “That’s every week” and, “It’s sports, it’s always going to be there.” “Hey, as long as you continue to live your life, judging a book by its cover, that’s who you are,” he said. “Don’t change it up for anybody else. That’s the biggest thing. That’s fine. I mean I finished 5th. I got a good payday. I’m good.”
